Customer experiences
My wife and I are fortunate enough to travel to some pretty amazing places throughout the year and this place was no exception. Had always wanted to spend some time in Maine and finally had the opportunity to do so this October at the Samoset and all I can say is what an incredible experience it was. The property is a geographic marvel. On par with Pebble Beach and similar places and while the buildings are much older, the staff is as good as I've experienced at five star resorts that cost 10 times as much. And such a cool old lodge complete with sweeping views of Penobscot Bay and a huge fireplace that sets the tone for its rustic ambiance. Wasn't able to play golf but course appeared to be way better than average and the outdoor pool is absolutely breathtaking. Reminding me more of the Costa del Sol than the United States. Can't say enough about the staff - all friendly, professional and engaging and what I would expect to find at a Ritz Carlton or similar. The general manager should be very proud of the overall experience his team provides. The friendly front desk staff. Super cool waiters and bartenders. I've been on several spectacular trips this year, but I can't think of one I enjoyed anymore than my trip to the Samoset!
From check-in to check-out, everything about my stay at the Samoset Resort was seamless. I came for a solo fall weekend to relax and celebrate my birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The front desk staff and General Manager, Connie, were so welcoming and accommodating. The property is beautiful, and I loved walking out to the lighthouse along the Breakwater. Dinner at Enoteca Lounge was delicious, and the service at the bar was great. I also had a fantastic massage at the spa…one of the best I’ve had. I travel to different hotels each year for my birthday, but the Samoset has easily become my favorite. I’ll definitely be back every year from now on.
We loved the larger size one bedroom condo! It was a very nice and comfortable unit with a great wraparound porch overlooking the golf course and the water beyond. It was a much better view than the partial ocean view balcony we expected. we were a little nervous because there were no pictures of the unit on the website. It was our first time to midcoast Maine and we just loved the resort. We love the restaurant here too. We ate at their sister restaurant at the Harborside Inn in Bar Harbor. Love the ambience and the architecture in the main lodge with the timbers and stone. Very attractive. Food is very good. I’d like to come in the summer when it was warm enough to use the outdoor pool and summertime amenities. I did use the steam room and indoor pool and hot tub every day and it was great. We will definitely be back here, but I would certainly want the same category of room.
We had the most exquisite time at the Samoset Resort! Our condo was lovely and clean, had everything you would need! The views of the golf course and the ocean are outstanding. Let’s not forget the food and service. We ate at La Bella Vita four times while we were here for the week and each time the food was delicious and the service friendly and efficient! A few friends of ours stopped by for a visit and could not believe how beautiful the Resort is! Till next year, keep up the terrific work!!!!👏👏👏👏👏
