H ORandomly picked The Circus Restaurant while in Bath, just going off the high ratings—had no idea it was fine dining! But what a pleasant surprise. The interior is cozy and inviting, with lots of beautiful paintings to admire while you wait for your food. And speaking of food—absolutely delicious! Every dish was well-prepared and full of flavor. The staff were warm and friendly, making the whole experience even better. Just a heads-up for families with little ones: they don’t have high chairs, so it’s not the most baby-friendly spot. But if you’re looking for a great meal in a lovely setting, this place is a winner!
Zoe LoFood was amazing! I had the Ribeye Steak, very juicy, cooked so well and came with perfectly crispy chips. My partner had the haddock dish which was tasty. The sauce complimented really well with the rice and fish. The service was outstanding, they offered to hang our coats up in the cloak room and the staff was lovely. Overall would definitely recommend this place and I can't wait to come again.
Barry CheeversExceptional. Staff were incredibly attentive and all had excellent knowledge of the menu. The restaurant is only a short walk from The Circus, so you’re able to take in the fantastic site before dinner. I had the parsnip soup to start, a perfect blend of Indian styled seasonings and parsnip gave way to a perfectly spiced experience on the tongue. Then for my Main I had the venison pie. Very delicious and hearty meal. Essentially an incredibly rich piece of venison wrapped around light pastry. The accompany purée accented the flavour well. My only criticism is that it may be a tad dry, perhaps slightly more gravy/sauce in the pie itself would be beneficial. For pudding I had the crème brûlée. A masterclass in balance, between the sweet taste of the cream and cinnamon savoury flavours of the nut topping. I shall be returning.
Louise WassellFantastic neighbourhood restaurant with a friendly and relaxed ambience. So nice to have a menu of freshly cooked, interesting, seasonal dishes to choose from. I loved my lentil moussaka from the Spring menu. I'm not vegan, or even vegetarian but it was so tasty and delicious. House wines were great and there is a cute menu of puddings, cheese and accompanying drinks. Thoroughly recommend.
