D TownUnfortunately this was disappointing, we ordered our steak medium rare but they came out very overcooked. The manager was great and very understanding and took 30% off the bill because of the error which we appreciated. The starter and sides were ok. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. The Herd represents very good value for money for the area and what you get. The atmosphere is lovely too.
Haydon PapworthHad lunch here on 21/03/25 and food was excellent. Got the sharing platter. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Great flavour. Sauces and garlic butter were also great. Had sticky toffee pudding for dessert which again was insane especially with the crunchy toffee drizzle on the top. My only criticism would be the twice cooked chips. Appreciate they're twice cooked but I thought there were a bit overdone. Overall excellent meal. Service was great. Highly recommend.
Gareth TaylorAs part of a planned pre-Christmas break we researched Steak restaurants in Bath, settling on the The Herd. I’d strongly suggest you book ahead as we wouldn’t have got a table otherwise! We consider ourselves something of Fillet Steak nerds, I will refrain from claim in my to be experts but let’s just say we’ve experienced many over the years!! So, is this place any good? Yup. Simple as that. My wife always orders her fillet “Medium” which more often that not is perfect for me too, but on occasion I will order “Medium-Rare” for myself just to compare them and sure enough this time hers was cooked-through just that extra bit! You struggle to beat Herefordshire or Aberdeen Angus Beef, it’s great quality. Our steaks had excellent flavour. Staff were found to be friendly and attentive.

The steak sauces are not to miss as they complement the steaks beautifully. Steaks are always cooked perfectly to your request here. The service is always exceptional, thank you to our server Karl who went above and beyond. We ordered: 2x 10oz Ribeye with extra marbling (medium) Peppercorn Sauce Onion Rings Rosemary and Garlic potatoes.
