My first time in a Jean Coutu and it was great. I had no idea it was such a multi-purpose store and not just a drug store. This location is quite large and has a lot more variety and options than most Shoppers or Lawtons around town. From prescriptions and health equipment to snacks and even getting photos done, you can find a lot here. Big bonus is the staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Aug. 2025 was visiting Fredericton. I forgot my sleeping aid at home and was going to need 4 pills to get me through until I returned home. When I explained to the owner my situation , he refused , said I needed a release from my doctor and that it was a controlled substance. I called my doctor but was unable to reach him at the time. I called my pharmacist in my community and they made a call to the owner in Fredericton, he would not do the courtesy between pharmacists. I ended up leaving for home. Just for the record , these pills in which I needed is not a controlled substance…, To the owner…. My hometown pharmacist called you…. Ruined weekend with family for sure……

Visiting Fredericton. Dropped by Jean Coutu to find soft brush and cleaning solution. Piper met us at front door and was extremely patient and helpful. Had not expected to find both items in one store. Later in the same visit, Piper helped us find Ganong chicken bone (chocolates) and Sussex Golden Ginger Ale … both special products from the Maritimes and not available in central Canada. Thanks a million, Piper !!
