We had the displeasure of working with Mark McDaniel with interest in a space that he let us know had been sitting empty for 6 years. When we inquired 6 months before our business grew exponentially, it was out of our price range. When we reached out again, the first response we got from him was him bringing up that it was out of our price range the first time. At our tour, he told us that we were in a position to negotiate since the space had been sitting for so long. When we sent our negotiation with the explicitly stated openness to hear a different offer, he didn’t respond until we followed up - to which he said it “was a waste of his time.” The annual loss of rent would have totaled ANNUALLY $6,000. Instead of plainly saying, “the price is firm,” it was taken as an opportunity to take another dig at us and our business. I guess that the landlord and realtor would rather have a space sit open for 6 more years than lose $500 a month for a local, small business that could have brought more traffic to the area and shopping center. I do not recommend working with Southeastern Commercial, but maybe I just do not recommend working with Mark.
