Customer experiences
I absolutely love this location, hands down the best Hotworx in the entire country in my opinion. I have been to several locations in several states and while they are all equally adequate the Naperville location takes the cake in every category hands down. The staff is amazing. Bri. helped me get signed up. She is very knowledgeable and really understands the dynamics and each of the workouts and took the time to walk me through the gym to explain the benefits of each class as well as the the basic movements each one would involve. I felt welcomed and informed and was immediately comfortable and have felt at home every time I come to practice. And the workouts are challenging, dynamic, and never boring. The benefits are honestly unlike anything I have ever experienced. I have always been an athlete I grew up surfing swimming and playing water polo so I am not all inexperienced when it comes to trying different training modalities and I continued to be blown away by the results I am achieving with the addition the IR sauna workouts. It’s truly a game changer. The gym is impeccably clean and well maintained and I look forward to every opportunity I have to come for a workout. The owner is gracious, hardworking and incredibly kind and will also make you feel right at home anytime she is there. So whether you are a life long practitioner or just beginning your journey towards health you should one hundred percent come and take a class… your mind your body and your soul with thank you :)
I joined HotWorx in September, and at first, I was really excited about the workouts. However, after several sessions, I didn’t see any weight loss. The average calorie burn per workout is about 110, and despite their claims of burning more, it didn’t feel like I was getting the results I expected. Another issue I noticed is that the saunas are not well-maintained. There's a noticeable amount of dust, and it seems like basic cleaning efforts like Swiffering or vacuuming aren't being done. To make matters worse, some people enter the saunas with plastic mats, which is concerning given the potential for inhaling burning plastic fumes. I recently had plastic surgery and requested to cancel my membership and return in June to only use the saunas. However, the staff told me I would still be required to pay the $60 membership fee, even though I’m unable to use the saunas or lift weights during my recovery. Later, I received a call saying they typically waive this fee for non-elective surgeries. This was frustrating because I wasn’t informed about that policy upfront. It feels unfair to be treated this way, especially when I can’t use the services I signed up for and they override there policy for those have elective surgeries. Being fair across the board is the right thing to do.. On top of that, I referred a friend, but never received the referral credit. Given all of this, I’ve decided I won’t be returning. For anyone considering a membership, I’d recommend looking into other fitness options like Club Pilates or a different gym altogether. Update: I entered the gym and canceled my membership due to me not being able to use it. I told Liz my concerns about the dusty saunas and how people enter the Suana with plastic matts. She laughed and told me she thought it was funny even though she cleaned the sauna all morning. There was even a plastic matt in there lost and found. This is how the saunas look below. She was extremely rude and condescending to me. Not worth the head ache or the rude staff members.
I went here for an event thrown by a club I am in for girls who walk. The staff is just lovely! They were all so kind and not pushy at all. I had one of the best workouts of my life doing the cycle and core class back to back in the sauna. Definitely not for the faint of heart, but they do have modifications if it gets too hard! So I recommend giving it a try regardless of your fitness level. The sauna alone has so many benefits. Absolutely loved my experience here. They also had facials which was a nice touch! I felt like I pampered myself. Not sure if they have facials all the time or if it was just for the event but overall a great experience either way!
Just started my journey with hotworx and signed up after my first session! So excited to get to better myself physically and mentally. All of the ladies that work the front are so kind and welcoming! Mel, Brie and Clarissa are the 3 ladies I had the chance to meet so far and they will answer any questions you have about the location and hotworx! I love that there is a space to do additional workouts too. Secretly hoping someday they can implement a cardio machine of some sort outside of the saunas but I know space is limited :)
