I was moving from California to Minnesota. My organizer in California researched and found Leah to support me in Minnesota. Leah helped moving, emptying out a condo, helping with difficulties with relatives, and handling all the things required to ensure one place was organized and another setup going forward. She did a remarkable job. She does it all- helps me with paperwork phone calls etc and even always answers her messages :). She even just helps me with basic household chores. No task is too much for Leah. She even did a 50th birthday party for my son. She did it all invitation, decorations, food, etc. blah blah blah blah.
Leah has been great. I moved to MN with both my wrists in braces, after the end of a long term relationship and the death of a parent, and a bunch of other big life events all within a short time frame. I was overwhelmed, drained, exhausted in every way - emotionally, mentally, physically etc. I needed help unpacking all my stuff and putting it away and figuring out how to live in a much smaller space after downsizing from a 2,000 sq ft house to a 1,000 sq ft apartment with poor storage. Leah helped me get everything unpacked and put away in ways that made sense. Because of my physical limitations, Leah did a lot of the leg work while I directed where I wanted thing. I had tried working with a different organizer before I met Leah, and I just found the other organizer's style rather wearing and pushy. Working with Leah I have felt very emotionally supported, and frankly her physically energy is just amazing. Most people having trouble getting organized are usually dealing with trauma of some kind, and the last thing you need is someone who is going to impose value judgements on you or tell you things have to be a certain way. I need systems that work with how my brain works and Leah was able to accommodate that and figure out how to work with my style. Leah is non-judgmental and keeps things moving. She is also a positive person in a non-annoying way. Because of all the deaths I experienced, over the past five years, I've worked with organizers in three states. A good professional organizer helps you get farther than you would on your own, see better results than you would on your own. One key thing for me is whether working with someone leaves you exhausted, neutral or energized. Usually after working with Leah, I have felt I made significant progress and felt able to keep it up and/or maintain it afterwards. About six months after the move, my dog died, and Leah helped work through what should be hauled off (by Leah) for donation and what could be stored with sentimental items. I never felt pushed to get rid of things, but I found through the process of talking with someone really listening, that it helped me to clarify what was important for me to keep. I really can't say enough in praise of Leah. I referred her to another friend who was similarly dealing with an estate and grief. I will also note that Leah does a great job figuring out how to donate or sell various items. I've included a photo of the home office set up we devised, just because it was right behind me when I was writing this. We used this shelf to display keepsake items and store various office supplies.
