I had a GREAT experience here for my cut/wash/blowdry! I had just moved to Norfolk this year and was looking around for a new hair stylist. I have long thick hair and always been pretty picky with my haircuts. In the past, I’ve had stylists rush my hair because they underestimate how much longer my hair actually takes to dry, or, I leave with a cut that I didn’t really ask for. That was DEFINITELY not the case here! Debbie did a fantastic job giving me exactly what I asked for! I walked into my appointment with the thought of “long layers and blended face framing pieces” since I still enjoy braids and wanted to keep my length. Debbie told me this type of cut is actually close to a “butterfly cut” and explained her cutting process the ENTIRE time and was super personable! Not only was the cut literally perfect, but the price was phenomenal too! I will definitely be coming back!! Thanks!

I will start this review by honestly stating that I was 11 minutes late for my appointment. I called as soon as the salon opened to let them know and apologized both over the phone and in person to no acknowledgement either way. I am all about supporting small business which is why I booked here for a second time (I also referred someone else here to support the business) but unfortunately won't be returning. As a busy twin toddlers mom, getting my hair done is part of the limited 'me time' I have and usually an enjoyable experience. Mentioning again that I know I was late but my hairstylist didn't speak a word to me (nor did anyone else who worked there). I tried to make some conversation but felt shut down. My hairstylist didn't ask what I wanted to do with my hair, I just spoke up when I started seeing scissors in her hand. When it came to styling, she again, didn't ask how I wanted it styled, I mentioned I wanted volume, assuming she was going to do a round brush blowout but it wasn't what I wanted. I get my hair cut 1-2 times a year so I like to know I'm comfortable where I'm going. The cut was fine, I ended up restyling it for the event I had later on. Customer service is SO important in this day and age and it fell short today. I didn't want to write this review on account of not wanting to bring your rating down, but I will mention when I receive great customer service and when I don't and unfortunately today was not a great day.

Just moved to Waterford and feel right at home. Came from a busier neighbourhood not knowing what to expect. Booked my first hair appointment since my last before I moved here and my hair has been growing, you might say that I kinda neglected it. I was just waaaay too busy to notice, until I settled in. I looked for the nearest and to be quite honest a nice looking establishment and I came across Alchemy. I walked in and felt so at ease with Hailey and Tory. Hailey cut and Tory hosted. My, my what a nice experience. Hailey, thank you for asking questions about my wants and needs, I feel great with my new hair cut. You did a great, great job. You listened very well too. What a pleasure it was. Thank you all kindly.
