Great produce but doesn’t have good signage around the pharmacy area. Took me forever to find shampoo as it wasn’t marked well at all. As a disabled person I only have so much energy and spent most of my energy looking for one item. I had to cut my shopping short as a result.

While Zehrs has updated its store, the quality of its meat and produce has significantly declined. Zehrs was once our go-to for high-quality groceries, even at a premium price compared to discount chains like No Frills or Food Basics. However, the quality that justified the higher cost is no longer there. It used to feel like No Frills stocked lower-grade meat and produce that didn’t meet Zehrs' standards. Now, the quality is virtually the same, but Zehrs charges significantly more. This decline is particularly noticeable at the Orillia location, where standards have dropped drastically. I’ve even started to suspect they are re-dating or flipping questionable cuts of meat. For instance, the last time I purchased chicken wings, one package smelled off and had an odd texture. When I contacted the store, their response lacked concern—they just told me to bring it back. While it’s a plus that they accepted the return without a receipt, their lack of care reinforced my distrust in their “fresh” meat offerings. I can no longer recommend Zehrs for fresh meat or produce and won’t be purchasing these items from this location again. It’s disappointing to see a once-reliable store lose its quality edge. I've noticed a new tactic Zehrs is using: they put an item on the front page of their flyer at a great price for a "2-day only" sale. Yet, even on the first day of the sale, they have no stock. When you ask, an employee will say they were "shorted on a shipment," and customer service won’t offer a rain check because it's a "2-day sale only." Last week, for example, they advertised strawberries for $1.99. Not only did they have no stock for the entire sale, but they also offered no substitutes for the inconvenience. This just adds to the growing frustration with Loblaws, Zehrs, and their affiliated brands. It feels like a bait-and-switch, where they advertise deals to get customers in the store but don’t actually provide the products. These kinds of tactics only make people lose even more trust in the company. Some positive notes: This store is consistently clean and well-organized, which makes for a pleasant shopping experience. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. They sometimes have great deals on points promotions, which is a nice bonus if you shop regularly. Both the optical department and pharmacy are excellent — professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. It's also convenient that they offer a wide range of services under one roof.

There are so many positives. This place has a great fresh produce section, an excellent bakery that has a wide variety of fresh goods, and a great overall selection. It is a huge store as well with great prices. The store is organized and well kept, and the management clearly strives for an outstanding store at all times. The staff are also quite pleasant.

Very clean and well organized. A little insane on price for many items as compared to Food Basics or Costco but it is well-located.

Zehrs Orillia is a supermarket.
