Ruth was a recommendation from my friend, who hired Ruth's Doula services. As i was navigating some hard times with my then 2 month old daughter, with reflux, breastfeeding issues , a lot of crying and colic, Ruth came in for a consulting and gave us some very helpful tips on how to get my daughter to sleep better and breastfeed. She was empowering to me, kind, very responsive and you can see that she just loves what she does, is empathic to you and very experienced with moms and of course babies. I often recommend Ruth to pregnant friends and i am so happy she is committed to getting women's care to those in need. Ruth and her team are AMAZING! As a first time mom I would be so lost! I was more nervous about labor and not so much post partum but so glad I did the full package with post partum as I ended up needing more help than I thought I did (tips with baby wearing, feeding, swaddling, the list goes on!) I ended up having a fairly quick labor and only pushed for less than 20 mins, I chalk this up to Ruth's help and staying active with her guidance. Highly recommend for nervous first time moms that have no idea what they are doing and know nothing about babies :) I went the more mainstream route (hospital birth) but was able to do more homeopathic/natural routes for some other stuff that came up instead of taking heavy antibiotics and other meds throughout pregnancy which was great. Having Ruth + OB was an excellent approach for me personally - Im a big fan of a mixing modern medicine with more holistic approaches, worked out very well for me - I cant recommend this service enough!
