Montgomery Construction redid our back deck in Oct 2024. Like Ryan's other reviews, we can add to those recommending him for his work ethic and skill level; he is excellent. When we were getting quotes, Ryan was the only one who pulled up a few deck boards to see what was happening underneath our rotting deck so that we could be properly quoted--even before he knew he was getting the job. (In fact, he came back twice!). Given that we had only been in our house for a few years and didn't know what the base was made of, this was very reassuring and guaranteed no surprises during the project. We started to get a sense of his work ethic then and it continued through his work. He worked essentially non-stop to get us a new cedar deck before the snow flies and we could not be happier. The deck looks absolutely fantastic and Ryan improved on a number of areas. He had creative solutions for a few little challenges that have turned out to be better than our original plan. Even though I told him he didn't have to as we sealed the backyard off from our kids during construction, he cleaned up his work site every single night--often in the dark--and even raked our back lawn on his last day before leaving (totally over the top! Thank you Ryan!). That he was the most reasonable quote we received was just icing on the cake. I can recommend him without reservation for your home construction projects and have him on speed dial as we go forward with our own projects!

I hired Ryan at Montgomery Construction to renovate my ground floor powder room. He made the whole process very easy - he recommended a designer to help with decor selection and provided me with a very detailed quote and timeline. He started the project on the date he indicated and returned daily until the project was complete. He kept the area as dust-free as possible and cleaned up at the end of every day. We ran into a couple of obstacles (outside of his control) which he took in stride and found ways to resolve without delaying the completion of the project. I look forward to hiring Ryan for my next project and would recommend him to anyone looking for a talented, detail-oriented and fair contractor.

Working with Ryan was a fantastic experience. We had a bedroom reconfigured, adjusting the closet layout and raising the ceiling to maximize use of space. We also had a wall added in place of the curtain partition downstairs to formalize a bedroom. Estimates for both jobs were clear and detailed. Ryan provided great suggestions on some of the finer points, like how best to finish the closet and ideal placement of the basement wall in relation to existing structures (like the stairs). He didn't hesitate to ensure the finishing details were exceptionally completed; we were really pleased by the effort he made splitting some of the spare hardwood pieces lenthwise to ensure the existing floor met the existing baseboard, saving on cost significantly :) The results in both rooms speak volumes about the quality of Ryan's work; see attached pics. (Dark blue wall with doorway is the new wall where there was no wall!) If you have a job, big or small, that a contractor could simplify for you, I highly recommend giving Montgomery Construction a call. Price and work ethic are phenomenal!!!
