White Mountain Cafe & Bookstore

We visited on a Wednesday in late June 2025 for just a lunch time coffee. We were actually at the McDonalds next door and my wife saw the store and wanted to check it out. We had already ordered food at the McDonalds. We were pleasantly surprised how nice it was inside. She insisted on getting a coffee and I can't remember the life of me what she ordered but I remember her saying it was good. We took a look around the store a bit and they had ALOT of stuff. There is also a small eating area around the front but it was a little tight to navigate through. I wish we had seen it sooner before we place our mobile order at McDonalds but we'd probably come back and try this if we were in the area. We were driving through on a road trip.

After coming across this place searching for places to eat that were along our road trip route, I am so glad we stopped by. It is a charming little store and cafe. The staff were so sweet and helpful to us in finding something we liked. I felt very welcomed. They were super fast in putting our order together too! While waiting for our food, perusing the bookstore was a perfect pass time, and they have lots more than just books. Some toys and children's items as well as more general gifts and souvenirs. The books available in the bookstore are of a wide but unique variety which I appreciated. Lots of things about New England, hiking, being outside, nature, etc. I wish I had more room in my suitcase to buy books this trip. But I'd come back again and again for that panini alone!! Keep in mind seating is limited; there are a few outdoor patio tables under a shade outside and a great view of mountains from your seat. We loved slowing down and sitting out there to enjoy our drinks and food while reading a good book. I'd come here all the time if I lived here. A must visit!

On our way to VT we stopped at this sweet cafe for lunch. Friendly service, busy spot! We were fortunate to get a picnic table riverside, to enjoy our yummy repast. Turkey Panini’s cooked to perfection with spicy pickle chips cannot be beat. Help your self to an organic tea and enjoy. Bonus our pups got to sit with us.
