My poor cat Nala had a fall from on top of the fridge today. Worried her foot was broken, I immediately called 16th ave and they were able to see her same day for an emergency appointment. The vet was super understanding and knowledgeable, and took time to make sure my cat was comfortable (given this is not her regular vet, but the only one able to see her and treat her *if* it was broken same day in a two hour radius!!) The appointment was punctual and timely, and the vet talked me through everything he was doing and his thoughts on her situation. They told me to call if I have ANY worries. I am so glad the vet cares about my cat as much as I do! Pricing was fair and the breakdown provided was comprehensive. Highly recommend!

They gave my cat anti-inflammatory injection. But they charge it separately. Not only the medicine fee, they even charge the injection action as injection fee for $40! I’ve been there for years with my three cats. That’s the 1st time I heard sth called injection fee in my life.

Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience with the Veterinarian This afternoon, I brought my Bernese Mountain Dog to this veterinary hospital. I want to begin by acknowledging the front desk staff — they were warm, patient, and genuinely caring. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended. After waiting in a small, non-air-conditioned room, the veterinarian, Dr. Ahmed, entered. Within seconds, the interaction felt uncomfortable. Dr. Ahmed appeared visibly uneasy around my 90lb dog, who is a gentle and well-mannered companion. My dog has been suffering from a sore paw and allergies, and while I appreciated that the vet wanted to examine the paw, the approach was deeply concerning. Without warning or calming interaction, Dr. Ahmed forcibly held my dog's mouth shut with one hand while lifting and manipulating her sore paw with the other — all while standing over her. Unsurprisingly, my dog yelped in pain and distress. Rather than showing concern or empathy, the vet seemed irritated and let her paw drop abruptly. She attempted the same rough approach again, this time using a treat but still forcefully closing her mouth and lifting the injured paw. Once again, my dog cried out in pain and began to hide behind me, clearly frightened and traumatized. Eventually, another staff member (who was once again very kind and helpful) was called in to assist, and with all of us working together, we managed to calm my dog enough for a brief examination. Dr. Ahmed later returned with ointment and antibiotics, but by that point the damage — emotionally and physically — had already been done. Looking back, I deeply regret not choosing to travel to a more reputable veterinary clinic in Newmarket or Richmond Hill. I do not believe Dr. Ahmed displayed the patience, empathy, or professionalism that should be expected of anyone in veterinary medicine. Her demeanor and handling of my dog were not only unprofessional, but also upsetting and unacceptable. I strongly advise pet owners to consider other clinics where animals are treated with the care, respect, and compassion they deserve.
