I dealt with Vanguard about a month ago for the purchase of my condo. I never take the time to leave reviews good or bad, but sincerely they are worth it. From our first meeting, their professionalism exceeded expectations – I inquired with and spoke to a few realtors on the phone before meeting with Boris and Tanya in person. Each phone interview revealed a realtor who specialized and excelled in one thing – quick deals, hand-holding for a first time buyer, etc. I left my meeting with Vanguard with the understanding that this is who I wanted to help me find my home. From the outset, Boris provided succinct and expert advice – I entered the market with a wide price range as I had the privilege of varying my downpayment to afford a few different options between condo, townhouse, and single detached home. He helped me narrow down what to look for to best match my current needs and I ultimately came out ahead for it. My only feedback is that he is very clearly an accomplished dealmaker – as a first-time buyer it took me about a week to verify his advice was in my best interest and not squeezing me into an option I would regret – everything I was unsure about ultimately proved true (trust, but verify). You should always do your own homework, but if Boris gives you advice consider yourself privileged for it. I primarily dealt with Tanya. Tanya from the outset was kind, knowledgeable, and always available – by the end I actually felt bad messaging her outside business hours – she would literally get back to me within 30 minutes after 11 pm – I don’t encourage you to do that. But if you need her, rest assured she is there for you. As far as negotiating a deal – nothing is left on the table. I don’t mean to say that she is cut-throat, rather that she was able and willing to get for me exactly what I asked for - ultimately we received what I would say is to date the best value in a market where there are very easy comparables (condo) – and at the lowest price this season too. I also had the opportunity to deal with Mark, as I understand a newer realtor at the firm – he was excellent. From the work ethic helping with the essential minutiae of the deal at all hours, to the convenience of meeting you where you need to be to hand off essential documents, paperwork, etc. The best thing I can say about Mark is that he is reliable – something increasingly rare but you will know it when you miss it. He made a stressful time very easy for me. If you haven’t gathered yet, Vanguard’s team approach does something very different – as a first-time buyer who am I to say so? What I can say is I was helped to figure out the home I need, I was helped to buy the home I wanted, and I was helped not to stress about the transaction. All of this for a relatively low value (condo) transaction, and I am very happy for it. These people have got your back, and I am looking forward to doing future business buy or sell – if they will have me.
