Never thought my weekend would include giving a weld shop review, but here we are! We had the large stainless plate that holds our break lights fall off of our truck while driving, due to a failed weld from a poorly done repair. We’re truck drivers and just happened to be coming through SLC when this happened. We found Utah Tank & Trailer and they told us to stop by and they would look at it but couldn’t promise it would be done today. The guys looked at it and got to work. An hour later they were done. Can I just tell you how impressed we were with not only the speed of which they worked but this weld job is spot on! I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone. We were treated well by everyone there. They have a nice little lobby to wait in and the prices were more than fair!!! 💯 10 out of 10

Super surprised these guys were open past 5 PM. Went in there, the kid named Gavin was super helpful and did not hesitate to get me what i needed. He was fast, efficient and very knowledgeable in what i was coming in for. will be coming back again.

At first they sales person was very accommodating and friendly. Long story short, I am located in Ohio and purchased a used truck from them to be moved to Ohio eventually. I specifically asked if the truck was in good condition and works as it should including did it have a recent DOT annual inspection. I was told it did. Once I got the vehicle it had a slew of air system leaks, not DOT compliant, would fail a brake a test. They produced a DOT annual certificate and sure enough the inspector didn't note any of the air leaks. Dealer said they have to trust what the mechanic tells them. I said they need to use a different mechanic. Driver door hinges were bent and door was difficult to close properly had to have them replaced. Air system in the driver's seat was defective and for a total of 12 hours of driving it to Ohio I had to air up the seat every 5 minutes literally not exaggerating here. I asked if the AC worked and blew cold air they said yes, it did not even come on. The leveler air suspension system only works randomly and has to be repaired, and the latest item is it needs a new air compressor because it is failing and has been from day one. Probably because no one fixed all the air leaks and the compressor ran constantly. The air dryer assembly looks like someone poured burnt oil into it, that whole assembly had to be replaced. The brake valves in the cab were smashed into the dash by previous user/owner and the trailer air button would go almost completely into the smashed dash when pushed in. I spent 9 hours rebuilding it with wood and epoxy. All in I have had to put over $7000 in money and time into it and who knows what else will go wrong with it. And none of these items were identified in the web add for the truck. They also did not share anything with me a long distance buyer. I tried to get the dealer to cover some of these cost, not all of them, but they are hiding behind the as is clause and basically said sorry for my luck they said it is a used truck and can't be made new... And it is almost 20 years old. I have a almost 27 yo truck that runs better. Buyer beware, don't trust them, they just want your money. Omissions and lies. I have purchased several used semi trucks over the last 7 years and I expect to have to spend a couple thousand dollars on them but not $7k plus.
