Customer experiences
I recently stayed at Pod Brooklyn Hotel and had a great experience. One thing that really stood out was how helpful and friendly the staff were throughout my stay. Everyone I interacted with was welcoming, always smiling, and ready to assist with anything I needed, which made the whole visit much more enjoyable. I also want to mention the housekeeping team. The room was always very clean and well-maintained, and everything was organized nicely each day. It’s clear that they pay attention to detail and take pride in their work. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Brooklyn.
Positive: Shared workspace is terrific. Rooms are small, clean, and functional - no waste. Great location - short walk to the subway to take you quickly to Manhattan, a grocery store next door, and plenty of food/drink choices just steps away. Negative: ""
I can't recommend this hotel. Rooms are so small. The service was hot and cold. When I checked in - great. When I checked out, not a "how was your stay?" or "thanks" was spoken. The facility fee is deceptive and provides no value other than to boost the cost of the room as you check in. I've read other reviews and heard the defense of the hotel. There are enough complaints that it must not be as obvious as you believe. It's not transparent and even at check in it wasn't explained until I pushed asked what it was for. The answer was Mumbai jumbo discounts at local restaurants.
Customer service is what makes this place, the guys that run the reception actually want to help and have always come across as kind to weary travellers. The hotel is ok. If you get a room with windows onto the road it can be noisy all through the night. I would request a room facing the building personally if I was to come again. There is building work going on next door in a cafe that isn't open yet. This can also be noisy at times. This is a basic hotel with basic facilities. If you are looking for big spacious rooms, amenities etc this isn't for you but for us it worked well and had what we required. The location is good too, close to the subway, some nice coffee shops and some smaller retail stores. The rooms were clean but tight. We only travelled with hand luggage, maybe even tighter if you come with multiple suitcases.
Umbrella Hotel Brooklyn is a hotel.
