Our experience with Kara and Thunder Pup Dog Training has been nothing short of exceptional. We were new to the area with a new puppy, Boomer, and I had just found out I was expecting in April. While Boomer was a sweet pup, he struggled with manners and impulse control—issues like play biting, pulling on his leash, jumping on people, and being unable to hold a sit for more than a second. I reached out to several local and nationally known dog training companies, but none felt like the right fit. I turned to a local Facebook page and saw Kara highly recommended by multiple people. From our very first phone call, I felt reassured about hiring a trainer, and after Kara came out for Boomer’s evaluation, I knew she was the perfect choice. Kara offers a variety of training options, and we decided to enroll Boomer in her three-week board-and-train program. In just those three weeks, Kara completely transformed Boomer’s behavior. He now sits, lies down, stays in place, waits at doors until given permission to enter, walks off-leash in a heel position, and listens to us consistently—all while maintaining his cheerful, playful personality. Kara’s support didn’t end there. She provides us with weekly training sessions and is available when we need guidance. It’s clear she genuinely cares about both Boomer and our family. During his training, Kara sent daily updates with photos, showing Boomer thriving on field trips and learning to handle new environments and distractions. Thanks to her work, we now confidently take Boomer to places like Lowe’s, Bass Pro, and Chisholm Creek for daily walks.
