Caroline WLovely pub/restaurant. Welcoming staff. Nice lunch /snack menu, with a large glass of red after a long journey was much needed.|The beds were super comfy & the room was lovely, great shower, it had everything we needed. Great evening meal & breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay there again.
Lewis AscottThis is our first time to The Thatched Cottage and we left quite disappointed. The menu is very small so not much choice and everything that is on there is overpriced. Portion sizes are very small but the mains are to a good standard. Desserts however are very poor. I ordered sticky toffee pudding. Which the waiter even described as a brownie. It was very dry and lukewarm. The staff here however are excellent, very friendly, funny and welcoming. I would return here again but for drinks only.
oliver beattieRight so, decided to go out to the thatch cottage on a Sunday for the Sunday roast with some family and the quality of the mains, drinks and desserts was lovely but the price is a bit on the expensive size considering the portion sizes, there was 6 of us and a infant. We had one slice of meat each, 2 roast potatoes, each 1 carrot each, 1 parsnip each and a Yorkshire pudding each. We was given one small dish of veg which included broccoli and cabbage. And had to spend a extra 5 pound for a small portion of cauliflower cheese. Don't get me wrong the quality is lovely but the price is a bit extreme for the portions and needed to eat another meal afterwards to satisfy ourselves.
Daniel DurransPopped in on our way back from Shepton Flea Market looking for a Sunday Lunch. The place was really clean, with enough patrons for there to be an atmosphere without being too loud or crowded. Service was really quick and polite. Beef was a bit over done, as was the extra crispy Yorkshire pudding, while the roast spuds were under cooked. Had to ask for extra gravy. Fruit crumble was excellent (and a generous portion) but had to ask for extra custard as the small pot was definitely not enough. Overall a good experience with room for improvement.
