The Pig’s Ear Tavern is a Peterborough classic and a great spot if you’re looking for a true dive bar experience. It has all the right elements: plenty of drink options, prices that are very reasonable, and that laid-back atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in for a night with friends. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t try too hard, and that’s exactly what makes it so appealing. That said, I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the vibe has shifted over the years. The Pig’s Ear used to be a really welcoming spot for students, with an energy that felt fun, casual, and open to everyone. Recently, it seems a bit less like that and more geared toward a narrower crowd. It’s still a great bar, but some of that student-friendly charm feels like it’s been lost. Overall, it’s still worth a visit if you’re in Peterborough and want an affordable, no-frills night out at a place with history and character. The drinks are solid, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it still holds onto much of what has made it a long-standing favorite in the city.

A hidden gem of a dive bar in Peterborough. Amazing prices and over 20 cans to choose from and 6 taps. Can’t beat the prices either.

Awesome vibes and great servers and owner. There's lots of small events happening throughout the week, and plenty of local and touring bands come to play. Fun place for an intimate night out (you won't be dancing too crazily as it's a small dance floor) but there's a pool table, an outdoor patio, and plenty of small tables to hang out on if standings not your style. Don't forget to try a pickled egg!!!

Pretty chill place, was there for a trivia night - had a lot of fun and lots of great snacks! They also have a great selection of drinks (both alcoholic and NON alcoholic - which is greatly appreciated!) looking forward to my next visit
