I haven’t visited The Chestnut Horse since their massive renovation, and I have to say I was very impressed! They’ve developed an array of different seating and dining areas, so you can find something that suits. The restaurant is bright and welcoming, and then there’s lots of cozy spaces where you can enjoy a drink. There was a great drinks selection, including lots of local beers, ciders and more - it’s great to see pubs supporting local. The food looked great, and I’ll certainly be back in the future to sample it.

My wife and I went to The Chestnut Horse for a Friday lunch. Excellent food (burger and pie). Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Getting there was a bit tricky as it is down a single track road but we didn't meet other cars coming the other way so not to worry. I'm sure the owner is aware, but the car park could do with some urgent maintenance to fill in the craters and we found it difficult to find a space due mainly to other drivers parking inconsideratly and it being a bit small for it being a popular place.

We went yo The Chestnut Horse for Christmas day dinner and the entire experience was so great and I highly recommend! The food was outstanding, beef wellington cooked perfectly! The staff were welcoming and chatty which all added to the overall atmosphere. They also couldn't have been more kind and welcoming to our dogs as well. Making it a very lovely Christmas! Well worth it!

We found this pub when we left the Winchester Science Museum with two hungry children and we were delighted! We all had the most delicious meals in a lovely atmosphere and the service was excellent! We will definitely return!
