Asked them to fix my laptop with black flashing screen. Fairly negative attitude and they said it didn't happen in the two days they had it. They offered to update the drivers for which they charged me nearly £50 and when that didn't work they said it must be due interference from other electronic devices. No evidence at all of that and when I took it to a better computer repairer he immediately fixed it by replacing the faulty LCD cable. So won't be going to Personic again.
Just wanted to say Thank you to all the guys at Personic. My girlfriend was having problems with her laptop that wouldn't load windows. She took it into the guys at Personic and within 3 hours and for more than half of what she was quoted at another shop, her Laptop was back up and running good as new!!! Great Service and a great price!! Would definitely recommend these guys!!
I would happily use Personic again. They helped me choose a suitable replacement PC - no hard sell. They were easy to deal with and met their self-imposed timescales for delivery and setup. A security setup problem was dealt with speedily in a friendly manner. Thanks guys.
This is with reference to the store on North Street. I took my laptop in as it had suddenly stopped work. Was told by the guy in there that it was probably the power socket and they ought to be able to have it back to me within a couple of working days. Was told I would receive a phonecall once they had opened my laptop up to let me know exactly what the problem was and how much it would be. This never happened. I rang several times to speak to them, two times when I rang the person who answered the phone hung up on me half way through me trying to explain why I was calling. Each time I rang back I was told they were waiting for parts and would call me when they knew more. This never happened. After they had had my laptop for over a week I went into the store on a Saturday morning to see what was going on. There was nobody behind the counter or anywhere else in the shop that I could see. I waited for ten minutes and even called through the open door to the back area of the shop a couple of times, but no response. I tried back half an hour later and there was still nobody there. Rang again on the Monday to be told someone was working on my laptop and I would get a call back when they had finished. This never happened. I took time out of work the next day and headed down there to be told that they had concluded the power socket wasn't the problem and that it must be the motherboard instead. I was told it wouldn't be worthwhile replacing the motherboard because it would cost so much to do that I might as well just buy a new laptop. They offered to sell me a second-hand/refurbished laptop and transfer my data across for free. However, because their customer service had been so poor, I said no. They then charged me £15 for the "diagnosis" they had done on my laptop. So, overall, Personic had my laptop for nearly two weeks, failed to fix it and charged me £15 for the privilege. Which would be fair enough EXCEPT because their customer service had been so bad I couldn't help wondering whether I should actually trust their technical know-how. So, I took my laptop to a different computer store just down the road (I won't say which one here, but if you know North Street you can probably figure it out). That other computer store had my laptop up and running within half an hour and said the problem appeared to be just "residual charge on the motherboard" which was such an easy fix requiring no new parts that they wouldn't even charge me for it. When the problem later recurred, that other computer shop serviced my laptop for £36 and it has been working perfectly ever since. Now, I'm not telling you what to do, but if I ever have a problem with a computer again, I certainly won't be taking it to Personic.
