When you reach the front door you're immediately introduced to the theme they have gone for. Inside is all anime references and multiple tvs constantly playing various studio Ghibli films. It's a small cozy shop where I never felt like the staff was too busy to check in on me. The food I got was all cooked very well. The portion sizes were very generous. Staff was friendly. All in all a great trip and def would recommend it

The Yojimbo I remember had huge portions but it's not the same anymore. Food wasn't skimpy but not as before, and the quality was okay. We came on a Saturday night around 7pm and was able to get a group of 6 seated right away. They were patient while we tried to figure out what to order for the kids, and food came out quickly. Rolls were good, ramen piping hot, miso soup a bit salty and chirashi was fresh. I'll still keep them on my list go places to go...and ambience with anime and artwork is still cool!

Miso Ramen, Boa bun and Edamame (Pictured). Place is very quaint, and there is no alcohol but there is a liquor store right across the street and they allow BYOB. Food was fantastic. Also had a few rolls and the spicy miso ramen. They were both perfect. Great service. Very friendly. Will be back soon. Easy with kids as well.

My friend introduced me to Yojimbo, and it's my favorite japanese restaurant in Alameda, I don't usually care about the atmosphere, but the mix of a chill environment with anime pop culture is amazing and the food is top tier I have had nothing bad at all everything is delicious.
