Customer experiences
My friend and I came here for a good coffee and breakfast. We ordered a hot vanilla latte and their egg benedicts for myself and my friend got a pastry (croissant) and an iced latte. Upon ordering, I realized the girl taking our order was either someone new on their job or just wasnt having it, the rest of the staff were in good spirit but this girl was not. She didn’t smile, didn’t greet us and kept speaking to her coworkers in their language… it was very unwelcoming and dismissive. Also, I was concerned about cleanliness her hair was everywhere… she wasn’t neat which wouldve been fine to me if she wasnt by the food station. Anyway, I asked her if they had any meat for the benedits and this was around 10:30 and she said no and I let it go just to proceed my order and get my coffee. No one asked if we were to dine in (there were lots of space for dine in) or for take out, but we were there to dine in, so we seat ourselves. The drinks were served and the pastry. The vanilla latte did not have vanilla, and the pastry were hard as a rock and cold. It took them 30 mins to serve my egg benedicts and I was watching them make it, three people were hovering around to put the potatoes in their merry chef oven… then making the salad and then the eggs benedict all these took 30 mins while there were no other customers during that time. They spent time talking rather than focusing on one order. When I finally got the food, one of the benedicts were overcooked… the hollandaise sauce was good but how can they not know how to make egg Benedicts when it took them 30 mins for one dish? Anyway, this cafe has a potential given if they have better service and actual cooks if they plan to serve brunch. All in all, I won’t be coming back. It was a waste of my money as it was expensive too. The place looks nice though.
In the four days I was in Milton, I came here 3 times because the food was so good. I had smoked salmon on the flakiest dreamiest croissant ever, twice; and the Turkish eggs, which were so good I am determined to find a recipe so I can make them at home. I was also delighted to find that they have Indian teas: karak, cardamom, and kashmiri, all delish. Sweet Heart shares space with Chainsmoker and from what I could see of patrons’ meals it looks like they’re also worth a visit; I stuck to Sweet Heart because I wanted lighter fare. And the girls working there are lovely!
Sweet Heart Cafe was a nice surprise. For decoration and atmosphere it wouldn’t be our first choice but the food variety and quality was surprisingly good! Would come back. We ordered the salmon sandwich on sourdough bread and an egg plate. Would recommend all. Salmon sandwich was really tasty. With enough salmon and lettuce. It was a good brunch! We took the almond croissants to go and they looked yummie!
It was such a surprise finding this place in Milton. So basically there are two types of places under one roof One is like a cafe type of food and the other is a chainsmoker barbque food. They had an amazing and tempting variety of baked goodies at the cafe and gelato too. We had the salmon and egg sandwich in a challah with some side greens. Was well made although I would have preferred more egg on mine. Seems like a busy strip mall so parking you may not find right in front but around for sure. Would def go back to try Chainsmoker barbque You can come in here for tea, breakfast or lunch and dinner
Sweet Heart Cafe is a cafe.
