I stay here every time I visit my daughter. Yes it’s a little outdated but the rooms have always been really clean and the staff is always so nice. It’s a great price and I’ve never had a problem. I will continue to stay here.

Comfy clean rooms comfy beds and comfy pillows! Shower was awesome! Our room is on the third floor and they do not have elevators that is the only drawback. Staff was awesome! It was very close to restaurants and shopping. I will stay there again

Rating: 5/10||||I stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Carbondale, Illinois, from April 25 to April 27, 2025, with my partner. The experience was average, with some notable drawbacks. The room was clean enough, but the entire hotel—both inside and outdoors on the property—had a strong marijuana odor, which could be an issue for guests since this property is advertised as non-smoking. It wasn’t a dealbreaker for us, but I can imagine it being problematic for others. The pillows were comfortable, but the bed was only moderately so. The bedding was free of stains, but some of our towels and washcloths had visible marks, which was off-putting.||||The continental breakfast was subpar on both Saturday and Sunday, with limited options like cereal and toast that felt uninspired, so we chose to eat elsewhere in Carbondale. The property felt dated, with minor wear in the bathroom and furnishings. Check-in and check-out were efficient, and the staff was polite but not particularly memorable. For the question about recognizing staff, I don’t have any names to mention, as no one stood out for exceptional service. The location was convenient for visiting Southern Illinois University, which was a plus. Overall, it’s a functional option for a short stay, but the issues with the odor, stained towels, and lackluster breakfast make it hard to recommend enthusiastically.
