Customer experiences
This is a very very busy clinic, the front staff go out of their way to be kind and helpful. I always try and be as friendly as possible, because you reap what you sow. I'm thankful for these front staff, because some people treat them horribly. My doctor is Dr Salem,is he like my doctor I had for years,no, but he does his very best in a clinic that's extremely busy, I think I'm lucky to have him. Thankyou, Sturgeon Walk-in Clinic Wendy K
I moved from BC to St. Albert and chose to have a family doctor at this clinic. At 30 weeks of pregnancy, I went to my scheduled appointment. The reception was delayed by 20 minutes, and then I waited another 10 minutes in the examination room for the doctor. Since the rules in BC and Alberta regarding choosing a doctor in a maternity clinic are not the same, I tried to explain that I don’t understand how the system works and asked if the doctor could explain it to me. The doctor was very rude and dismissive, opened the door for me to leave while I still hadn’t finished my questions, and he hadn’t explained what I needed to know. Very inappropriate behavior towards a pregnant woman. For now I'm so disappointed. PS Thank you for the advice. Of course, I will come next time with a companion, since stress during pregnancy is not desirable, right? I’m glad that you acknowledge the mistake and that you will work on it. Thank you for your response
I can’t remember the name of the doctor I saw today but I came in to have a cat bite wound checked and get my tetanus vaccine booster. The doctor asked me 2 things, my weight and if I was pregnant did not look at my wound, ask me how it happened, he didn’t have me if it was WCB, he completely neglected his duty as a family physician. He sent me to the pharmacy with a prescription for a tetanus booster, rabies vaccine and rabies immunoglobulin shot. My prescription had words like post rabies exposure plan, STAT and have everyone freaking out. The pharmacy told me I must goto the hospital for that as they don’t carry them. Gave me an incredible amount of anxiety, a doctor who did not inform me of my next steps just sent me on my way with an incredibly scary prescription and no information. Wasted my time, the pharmacists time and the emergency departments time. Plus ended up wasting a contribution to WCB because the hospital forced me to give them my work information or I’d have to pay for my (completely unnecessary) ER visit myself. I used to recommend this clinic to everyone but after this, I never want to see another health care provider again let alone come to this one.
This is a followup to your response to my original review. Here are the facts. On Wednesday, you changed my Friday appointment from 3 PM to 1:30. On Thursday you changed it again from 1:30 to 12:00. 1:30 worked, but 12:00 didn't. You never said anything about an emergency. You told me the doctor was going on vacation that same day. I think he decided to leave early and clear his afternoon schedule. No wonder you have such a low rating. ______________ They changed my appointment at the last minute. I'm gonna try to find a family doctor elsewhere as this clinic is not making a good first impression.
