Customer experiences
Ordered 6 items on 1 order. Then booked delivery. Expected items to arrive together since no updates or indication otherwise. 3 weeks later I’m awaiting my 3rd delivery as still missing 2 items. Customer Service responses are SO slow 4-5 days. I’d suggest using B&Q, Screwfix or Howden’s. Quick to take the money slow to deliver any sort of acceptable service.
Very disappointed with my experience at Wickes. After placing an order, several items were missing upon delivery. I was told I’d need to wait another 6 weeks for the missing items, which was already frustrating. On the day of the rescheduled delivery, the live tracking didn’t work, and the delivery never arrived. I received no updates and had to make multiple phone calls myself to chase it up — all without a clear explanation. Customer service has been unhelpful and unresponsive throughout. I expected much better from a company like Wickes. Unfortunately, I won’t be ordering again.
Online order, took the payment twice with no order actually placed. Had to call customer services to get it sorted. Then delivery date came and went, waiting (7am-7pm window..), no call or text or email to confirm that delivery had 'failed' and wouldn't be arriving. Customer services unable to help (and hung up on me the first attempt), went to store and had to arrange another delivery, now costing a whole work week, customer services offered £15 gift card, cost more than that in fuel to go to the store to sort it and hundreds in wasted work days. Do yourself a favour and pick jewson, Travis Perkins, selco instead
While browsing the store with the intention of purchasing two doors, I was followed blatantly and unnecessarily by a South Asian female employee who didn’t even hide the fact she was following me. Her behaviour made me feel uncomfortable and unfairly judged, as if I were suspected of wrongdoing. The irony of the situation is that I was there with the intention to make a significant purchase — yet I was made to feel as though I was planning to steal. When I approached her for assistance, she appeared uninterested and unprepared to help, and quickly passed me off to another colleague. Thankfully, that colleague was highly professional and handled my inquiry with the level of service I would expect. As a person of colour myself, I found the experience particularly degrading. Being stereotyped and treated with suspicion in this way is not only offensive, but unacceptable. It reflects a lack of training and understanding in how to treat customers with respect and fairness. I believe this staff member would benefit from urgent retraining in customer service, with particular attention to unconscious bias and professional conduct. No customer should be made to feel profiled or unwelcome when entering a store — especially not by someone who should know better.
Smith&Weston Bathrooms LTD is a bathroom remodeler.
