I can’t say enough amazing things about Proficient Construction Inc! They recently built a roof over my deck and the results absolutely blew me away. It’s not just functional — it’s beautiful. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and overall design are beyond what I imagined. From start to finish, the team was extremely professional, respectful, and efficient. They kept everything clean and organized, communicated clearly throughout the process, and made sure every part of the project was done to perfection. Thanks to them, I now have a gorgeous outdoor space I truly enjoy spending time in — whether it’s relaxing with a coffee or entertaining guests, it’s become my favorite spot at home. I recently hired the team at Proficient to build a new deck (August 2025) . The quote they gave me was very fair and the level of professionalism, dedication and quality of work was outstanding. The job was done in a very timely manner and I couldn't have asked for anything better. Very impressed with these guys and would hire them again. All I can say about this company is Buyer Beware. They are not proficient nor are they professional. I really thought they were a trustworthy company, but the more I look at the work they did, the more I see all the flaws and corners they cut because they rushed to finish the job. Maybe it was because I questioned things about their work. I guess as a paying customer and homeowner, I’m not allowed to ask questions about work being done in my own home. They were super quick to accept the job and they got the job done quickly, but being fast doesn’t always mean doing a job right or well. They missed some major cracks in my concrete that they dry walled over and I had to get a concrete expert to go back and fix those cracks. Which meant undoing the drywall work these guys did and essentially paying twice for drywall work. They were also supposed to insulate flooring on a main floor. I can say, without a doubt, that they did NOT insulate the floor - meaning they LIED about completing work they didn’t complete yet charged me for work they did not do. They also said they would do a fairly large scope of work for me; but after I started questioning things, they finished only what they started and then ghosted me. I have large gaps above my basement windows that dirt is now falling through from outside and I have to figure out how to seal this up because they rushed to do an incomplete job. I followed up a couple of times but then just gave up. I’ve been scrambling ever since to find other companies to do small jobs and it has put me in a difficult spot. I don’t appreciate when a company doesn’t follow through on the things they say they will do or doesn’t care about their customers’ needs. They also insisted on payment the same day they sent the invoice and followed up relentlessly by phone and text until I paid. I guess that should have been my first clue. Most companies give you 30 days to pay an invoice. And when I’m paying such a large sum of money, I need some time to digest that information (so to speak). But maybe they knew how shoddy the work was and how much they didn’t do but charged me for, that they wanted me to pay before I had a chance to realize it for myself. I’m sure they’ll find a way to gaslight everything I’m saying. My experiences are legitimate. I hesitated leaving this review because I didn’t want to leave a bad review for this company. They’re a small business and I don’t like writing negative reviews about small businesses. But they left my house in an unsafe condition, didn’t address problems properly and charged me for work they did not do. Yet I paid for a full job, so I guess I’m the one who got scammed.
