Hard to give a review of a firm you haven't used but... I called several weeks ago and after speaking to the receptionist I got a call later from Norm. He asked if we could schedule a call a day later. I said no problem and Norm called me then. He was great, friendly and the only reason I'm giving one star, otherwise I'd have to give no stars. He took all of my info related to a slip and fall and said he'd pass all the info on to the lawers and they'd decide if we had a case. He told me I may hear from them later that day or the next day. I waited a week after hearing nothing and when I called back Norm answered. I reminded him who I was and that we had spoke the week prior and that I had heard from nobody. He apologized profusely and said he'd get a hold of Wendy right away and get her to call me back. That was 10 days ago and still crickets. The good news is we have a case. Word of advice Sokoloff, return people's calls.

I was rear-ended in a car accident, causing pain in various parts of my body, along with anxiety and panic attacks. Following a friend’s advice, I reached out to Sokoloff Lawyers, which turned out to be one of my best decisions. Wendy introduced me to Merle and Ketty, who handled my case with kindness and professionalism. Merle, an outstanding lawyer, also showed genuine care, supporting both my legal needs and my recovery. Thanks to their commitment, I received the necessary treatment and a fair settlement. I highly recommend their services!

Did I ever luck out in going with Sokoloff Lawyers - everyone I was in contact with were first rate. Huge win in getting Ben Fotia to represent me. He listened, he was understanding and he was professional. Ben's follow up was also appreciated - he got the job done to my absolute satisfaction

I had a very negative experience with this law firm and cannot recommend them. Sokoloff Law was working with Select Document Services Inc. (SDS) for some of their process serving. A representative from SDS, Byron Raphael, reached out to me for assistance, and because my company had the reach and resources to complete their files, we took on the work. Sadly, shortly after assigning us the Sokoloff files, Mr. Raphael became ill and passed away (may he rest in peace). At the time of his passing, my company had already completed all eight files he had given us. Following his passing, I contacted staff at Sokoloff Law immediately. They assured me the matter would be handled, and I provided them with a full breakdown of the completed work along with all affidavits of service. I specifically requested that no payment be made to SDS, as my company—not SDS—had performed the services. Both their clerks and an accounting team member confirmed no payment had been made and reassured me that we would “figure something out.” Eventually, I spoke directly with Wendy Sokoloff. Unfortunately, she dismissed my concerns and claimed that because her firm had no direct contract with my company, they had no obligation to pay—even though she knew it was my team’s work that ensured defendants were properly served. Since then, I have checked the court records multiple times, and not one affidavit of service has been filed on the matters we served. Yet somehow, the files appear to have advanced. For a personal injury law firm of this size to knowingly withhold a few thousand dollars from a small business—after benefiting from completed services—raises serious questions about the ethics and professionalism of Wendy Sokoloff and her firm. To profit from the work of a small business, while hiding behind a technicality created by a tragic circumstance, is wrong, unacceptable, and shameful. I am now preparing a formal complaint to the Law Society of Ontario, commencing a small claims action to recover the unpaid fees, and considering whether I need to contact the plaintiffs in these matters to inform them that the very work that advanced their cases remains unpaid. Do better, Wendy. It is disgraceful to take this position when our work was critical to your clients’ proceedings. Derik Rehou P.S. You can be certain I am no longer interested in your business.
