My friend and I visited the Portsmouth Tavern with his service dog, and the experience was genuinely excellent. The gentleman who greeted and seated us was professional, kind, and clearly well-informed. He asked for the correct documentation (per the AODA), didn’t interact with the dog at all, and treated the situation exactly as it should be handled. No awkwardness, no overstepping; just calm, respectful competence. What really stood out was when another patron tried to approach and interact with the dog and wouldn’t take the hint. Staff stepped in and advocated immediately, reinforcing boundaries without making it uncomfortable for anyone. That kind of awareness and support is rare and deeply appreciated. It’s refreshing to see a business that not only "allows" service dogs but actually understands their role and protects their handlers. Huge thanks to the staff for doing it right! We’ll absolutely be back.

I love the Ports. Cold beer, great food, and staff so friendly they might actually remember your name. Prime harbour location with walking trails for when you need to “walk off” one too many pints. It was my grandfather’s go-to when he worked at the pen, and now I’m proudly continuing the tradition. 6 stars.

Ols school pub with locals, sports, drinks and good food. The place has a feel about it that is positively charming and the staff is great. Service is polite and you almost feel like you're back home. The food itself is good. No fuss, no fluff, just good food, as it should be! Get there for a break, it's a great experience!

Quaint place to visit for a meal as advised by Kingston Pennintiary tour staff. The recommended meal was the beef dip, and frankly I have not had better....fries were fresh cut and perfect...make a stop if you can.
