Used plumbwise from a word of mouth recommendation. Very satisfied by speed of response from dispatch, and the level of professionalism from the service tech sent to my house. Reasonably priced, all work done in the same day. Will definitely use again in the future

l had a great experience with plumbwise plumbing. Chris T the plumber who came to our house to fix our clogged pipe was very knowledgable and had the job done very quickly. I would definitely recommend them for your all plumbing needs.

I had a leak in my basement originating from an upstairs bathroom. Plumbwize was quick to set up an appointment, and Jesse the technician was knowledgable and polite. After a first visit to assess the problem, Jesse returned to cut open the main floor wall and replace a cast iron pipe. After 3 hours he said he had to leave and finish the job another day. He indicated it was a $1200 job and based on an hourly rate it would cost us $500 for the 3-hour visit, with his return visit to finish the job estimated at $700. He returned after the weekend to finish the job in 2.5 hours, at which point we were billed an additional $1200 plus tax, for a total cost of ~$2000. I spoke to Jason on the phone who conveyed that the book price of the job was $1200, and that the initial 3 hour visit (removal of wall) was an extra hourly charge unrelated to the book price. For purposes of transparency I asked him what the hourly rate was, and how customers are to know whether they're paying by the hour or the job. He said they don't have/disclose hourly rates, and that every job is different. Aware that we felt very mislead and overcharged he asked me what I thought was fair, and so in the moment I agreed to meet halfway on the difference between the $1200 quote and the ~$2000 final price (a refund of $300). Though I appreciate Jason's willingness to discuss options, unfortunately I regret not being more firm on receiving a full refund beyond of what we overpaid beyond the quoted amount from the technician. The customer service process could have been much worse, but it also forces the customer to proactively call and haggle, which few very people are willing to do given the uncomfortable nature of these conversations and the lack of transparency. Overall I recommend you be cautious with Plumbwize and make sure you ask clearly in advance from a manager what the costs are and how they breakdown (hourly or by job, or some unknown combination). I would use again if there were no other available options, being mindful to get a cost update after every hour of work. *****Update after reading the Response from Owner***** I respectfully disagree with a few key points here: 1. I was never formally quoted anything in writing, so this makes it a he-said she-said regarding what actually happened. We were told in person by the technician that it would be a total of $1200, and unfortunately without any transparency about rates or any details on the work orders/quotes this is just impossible to verify. My only option would have been to record our conversations. 2. I do not know the size of a standard contractor bag but I've attached photos to argue that this missing section of wall would fit in far fewer than 5 contractor sized bags. 3. I cannot, of course, verify what occurred after the contractors left my house, but if the clean up and dump of this size of a job takes 5.5 hours I have to legitimately question the efficiency of the workers.

Chris T did an awesome job. He accessed the issue and resolved it under 20 minutes. Thanks!
