Customer experiences
I’ve had varying hair services done at the Aveda institute, and they ALL pale in comparison to the amazing color and cut I received from Juliette at PCI Academy Ames, Ia. Not only did Juliette take the time collaborate with me to ensure we were on the same page with things from start to finish, but her instructor, Deb, was phenomenal. She checked every step of the process with precision, broke it down in a way that even I was educated after leaving, and was incredibly respectful. I’ve never been so impressed. I cannot recommend Juliette, or PCI Academy Ames, Ia enough. Whether you’re looking to have a service done, or doing your due diligence on beauty schools, PCI Academy will not disappoint!
Just had my first appointment at PCI Academy, and I’m so impressed with the level of professionalism and care! Jessica Schaffer performed my lash lift and tint, and you’d never know she’s a student—her technique and attention to detail are incredible. She explained everything and made me feel completely at ease. My lashes look amazing! Highly recommend Jessica as she continues her journey in the beauty industry!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE. I used to go somehwere else and PCI is so much cheaper and BETTER!!! Tarrah did my cut and she was amazing. She would not let me leave until she knew everything was PERFECT!! She was the best and she made me feel so welcome. She was personable. When you sit in her chair it feel like you are her best friend. We did curtain bangs and a maintenance cut with long layers to keep my length !
I've used their services many times for haircuts and pedicures. Some good experiences, some terrible (hence the 3 stars) but last night was my final time. I went in for a simple shellac removal, and was there for over an hour and 15 minutes. the student did not know how to remove shellac - she told me she'd missed the tutorial session while being out. She left me alone twice - both times for 15-20 minutes - so she could go hang out with other students. An instructor never came over until the end; she had to go ask them finally how to remove it after I'd been sitting there for an hour. Meanwhile several students are congregating in the pedicure area; three were in the manicure area - all working on themselves. Not one checked in with me, they were all focused on working on each other. I understand they are learning and I gave my stylist grace (and a tip), but I won't be back. They all seem more interested in working on each other than the customers. She finally got it off, and I went home and used a buffer to smooth my nails myself.
PCI Academy Ames, IA is a beauty school.
