Customer experiences
Drove 2.5 hours to try out Olde English Restaurant. First thoughts was wow what a trip the atmosphere inside was very nice. Check out my photos... The restrooms was like no other nice and clean and spacious and private so you can do your business in peace. The restaurant has air conditioning which made it for a even more comfortable visit. The server we had was nice and friendly. I am a bit of a fish n chip connoisseur and always like trying new places in hopes to finding the best fish n chips in Alberta. Well needless to say this place fell a little short to making my list of top spots. Batter wasn't very crispy on the soggy side. My wife enjoyed her olde English carbonara. I do recommend stopping in and trying one the other menu items as they do have large selection to pick and choose from and some sweet treats as well.
I had a very enjoyable dinner at the Olde English Restaurant in Delburne. The Philly burger, which was the daily special, is absolutely delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly and was incredibly satisfying. The fries on the side were crispy and seasoned well. The portions are generous, and I left feeling very full and content. I've also had the chance to try their bi-weekly breakfast buffet. The eggs benedict comes highly recommended, especially for the excellent sauce. Overall, this is a wonderful spot for a hearty meal or even just a quick stop. I highly recommend it.
My wife and I made the trip to Delburne to dine at the Olde English Restaurant for lunch today for our first time. It was all you can eat Fish and Chips Tuesday. We were very very pleased with our meals. I had Pollock which is made with their own beer batter. The Pollock was moist and flaky and the batter was just right, not greasy. The serving was huge, the server arrived with four pieces of fish and a load of freshly cut fries. I had a further two pieces and I was stuffed needless to say. My wife has a shellfish allergy including shrimp so she avoids mots deep fried dishes in case of shrimp being cooked in the same oil. We mentioned it to our server who said they could cook her fish and fries in a fresh separate pot of oil just set aside for her. Wow, what a nice offer. My wife debated but decided to order steamed orange/lemon pollock with grilled vegetables (carrots, fresh cut) and mashed potatoes ( two scoops of potatoes with gravy). She raved about her choice, finding the large portions of fish to be very tasty and an item she would order again Despite being quite full, we also decided to enjoy some dessert. Chocolate Madness cake and Strawberry Rhubarb pie, sorry I forgot to take a photo of the pie. Both were quite good. For less than $60 before tip we had large servings of food that was made fresh, was very tasty and had excellent service. We will return to the Olde English in the not too distant future.
Went into Olde English’s new location yesterday. First time I’ve been there since they left their location in the old hotel. I was pleasantly surprised when walking in, on how nice the new location is. It had high ceilings and nice arches and decor. It was a little after typical lunch time and there was lots of welcoming conversations between the staff and there were several customers there for the time I went in. Tuesdays special is all you can eat fish and chips for 20$ which is a very reasonable price. The severing size was huge and some people actually took noticed and commented on it. What is all you can eat fish and chips without a second order though right. I dug and ate the first and though I was already overfull, the waitress brought me a second helping which was plentiful as well. (I feel like I might not need to eat for a week 🤣) The menu is also full of great meals and appetizers. From meals I’ve eaten at the previous location I can say I’ve always enjoyed the food at Olde English. If you are in the Delburne area, swing by and enjoy the food, atmosphere, and hospitality!!!
