The brisket was tender and smoky, and the sauce had a nice little peppery kick that really worked well. Sweet tea was excellent too — strong, just sweet enough, and really refreshing. They were super busy with the lunch crowd (lots of locals and law enforcement), so the staff wasn’t overly chatty, but they were fast and efficient. Clean seating area and restrooms, and the whole place has a good, local vibe. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in or near Edenton.

Old Colony is unusual for a barbeque restaurant with such an extensive menu of meats, sides, specialty dishes and deserts I haven't had anything but a great meal when visiting. Everything is well prepared and fresh for service. I highly recommend trying their sausage. The brisket is moist, pork is well smoked and dressed. Prices are fair and portions are well sized without being too much. The staff is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The facility is well maintained and clean. My only complaint would be that Old Colony isn't closer to home. If you enjoy traditional barbecue with a touch of creativity you cannot go wrong.

Amanda MadisonI've heard great things about this place and was super excited to visit. Everything was really good but the pork belly burnt ends took the spot as my favorite. I liked their options of sauces. So many people have raved about their desserts and they were out of the cake I thought about my whole 2 hour drive 😂 that will teach me to get somewhere somewhat late. Gives me a reason to come back. They also have drive thru for pick up orders. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
