I came across this charming, historic hotel when I was traveling through Iowa to visit some friends and family. My cousin lives in Lowden and I decided to book a room for us instead of crashing on her couch at her apartment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Everything was perfect! Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, nice tv with reliable Wi-Fi. The room we stayed in had electric radiators on the floor plus a mini-split heater that could be operated with a remote. On a very chilly night our room stayed perfectly warm. The owner was so accommodating of our last-minute request to stay at her hotel. She and her staff were really nice. I hope they can make a go of this place since it’s off the beaten path. Lowden is a charming little town that is on the historic “Lincoln Highway”; hence the name of the hotel. From the hotel, you can walk to a cute little bar and grill called The Railyard Restaurant and Bar. We had a great meal there with great service!
