I despise dental appts. It causes me anxiety. I am loosing my 1st adult tooth. Quite a hard pill to swallow but the dr and assistant were very kind, caring, and compassionate. They were accommodating to my quirky requests and understood my health issues.

It's $15 for EVERY office visit. It's hard to get the appointment time you want, even when you call far in advance. This past February, our dentist was out on paternity leave for 3 months and they never got a substitute dentist so it was even harder to get ANY appointments then. I had just gotten my bleaching tray molds taken but I couldn't get a fitting appointment so I had to wait over 3 months to get them even thought I paid $124 the day they took my molds. They gave no notice of the paternity leave whatsoever. The reason we switched to Willamette dental is that orthodontics are capped at $2800, which is really affordable...unless you need Invisalign, which is $1400 more. However, you can never call your local office (dentist or orthodontist) directly and sometimes it takes a really long time to get a call back. However, when you do finally get an appointment they are usually on time and provide good services. Although last visit, my child couldn't get X-rays taken of her molars because they only had an adult-sized film holder, which made all of her X-rays uncomfortable. So really, I guess you get what you pay for. Affordable but kind of a hassle.

I believe all WD cares about is making money. Service of clients actual needs comes second. Also the way appointments are scheduled makes it so if you have several things that need to be addressed you will only be able to visit the dentist every 8 to 10 weeks. Like they want to limit the number of visits you can make per year. And god forbid you have an emergency! You are screwed. I had a tooth ache and was given an appointment 7 weeks out. So what am I supposed to do for 7 weeks? Live in pain? I say buyer beware. If your teeth are in good health then maybe. But if you need actual help, go somewhere else.

Updated Review: this part of my review has nothing to do with the dentist-but the reception staffer who gave me a polar opposite experience from my actual appointment. I called in Thursday a bit after 1pm because I was having some bad bad pain. The call center connected me to someone in the office-this person was not a dental assistant or a DDS and was trying to tell me it was probably nerve pain (if you don’t have a certification behind your name u shouldn’t not be assuming what is wrong with a patient ) I was told she was sending a message to the DDS and would call me back. At almost 530pm no call back. I called back and the rep who took my call let me know the office staffer/receptionist left zero notes in my chart. She called the office direct which was still open and got voicemail. I got no call back and was worried about a possible infection! I ended up paying for a virtual visit with my medical provider who thought it could be irritation from getting the tooth fixed but wanted to give me antibiotics to be safe. Almost 9am the next day I’m calling my pharmacy to make sure my rx was ready and they tell me the DDS sent in 3 other rx. At this point I’m really mad because it’s 9am and I called at 1pm THE DAY BEFORE! So not only did I pay for another visit-no one even called to tell me meds were called in or what the DDS said and by the time they called I was in the phone with member services. I told the young lady I was angry and on the line with member services and I was ending her call because I did not want to be rude because I knew how mad I was. So my experience went from amazing with the actual DDS and Dental Assistant, to horrible dealing with a potential serious issue and as someone who works in healthcare you document in a patients chart EVERYTIME THEY CALL IN PERIOD! Was my first visit. I was scheduled aways out for a new patient exam, but had a little dental emergency. I was able to get in the next day. The first thing I appreciated was their respect for my time. I arrived early, I was seen on time all without feeling rushed. The dental assistant and the DDS I saw were both great, easy to work with and the DDS explained everything before she did anything. No one loves the DDS but this was a good experience
