Had Sunday lunch for the first time with the original chef back and the new manager. Truly excellent, as good as it used to be. Service and staff were excellent. Fantastic food and drink, with real attention to the real ale. A tap takeover from the Bang the Elephant brewery with some excellent beers. It's good to see a welcome return to form on all fronts. Very much worth the walk up Derby Road.

The caves are beautiful, and are complimented beautifully by Alexa Hawksworth, who serenaded us as we enjoyed a glass of Prosecco in the immaculate caves. The bar staff were attentive to our every need and they have a fantastic selection of beer, from lager to real ale. I’d recommend it to everyone. Perfect whether it’s a catch up with mates or a first date, very well run by a passionate manager who answered every and any question I had! 5 stars all round!

Glad someone who knows what they’re doing is in charge of this brilliant pub. Beer was tasting absolutely fantastic when I went in. Service was excellent and the new refurbishment pays respect to the caves and really shows them off. I look forward to returning for food and more pints.

Amazing pub, since it's had a makeover it's one of our favourite places to go and luckily it's a 5 minute walk from us. Sunday dinner is a must in the cave, portion sizes are the biggest I've seen! The Yorkshire puddings are amazing, lots of vegetables, roasts and a choice of 3 meats. The staff are friendly and attentive and welcoming. Always recommend it to family and friends!
