Mariel JonesThis is one of my favorite go-to spots in Portland! I love the vibe, the service, the food, everything. I eat here at least once a month and have never been disappointed. It’s one of the places I point my out of town friends to go eat at. They have gluten free options! My go-to order is the pork and rice with a thai iced tea. Today I tried the thai green tea with coconut milk — yummy but not as good as the classic thai tea. Takeout, dine in, it’s all good.
A JPretty compact local mom and pop shop vibe thai restaurant. Very limited menu but very delicious Comfort chicken and rice you will crave in cool weather. We got the penut sauce on side which is delicious delicious. Soup is very good. Over all their food seems simple but subtle full of flavors that is impossible to make at home. Chili oil is very spicy compare to typical Chinese chilli oil from dimsum, be cautious and taste it first before you add on your dish. Self service to order and clean up after yourself, so no obligation on tipping. Chicken skin is also highly recommended but they sell out often and not always available.
ZT WI was really missing the Khao Kha Moo I had in Phuket, and when I found out this place serves it, I had to come and try it! The pork leg in the dish was a bit leaner than expected. While the flavor was decent, the real essence of the dish lies in the fatty, gelatinous pork skin, which was lacking here—it felt like something was missing! I also tried their Chicken Noodle Soup. The broth was wonderfully balanced, savory with a hint of sweetness, but the noodles fell a bit short in texture. Important Note: Khao Kha Moo is only available at their SE location, not at the downtown branch! Don’t waste a trip. Plus, the atmosphere here is much cozier. Even though this branch has a lower Google rating than the downtown location, I definitely prefer this one!
Todd SusuphausI want to give honest review. I was here in 2021 and taste of rice on Khao mun kai is really good. Now, in 2024, I come back here again and notice that the rice tastes different from the last time. Still, the sauce and service are wonderful. Don’t forget to try Thai ice tea float. It was delicious.
