I hired this contractor to reside my house and demolish a structure, but the experience has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. The contractor failed to obtain the necessary permits, which led to the city threatening fines. They also used unlicensed plumbers and electricians, and one of the electrical junction boxes they damaged was poorly repaired by simply stapling wires to a 2x4, creating a serious fire hazard. We experienced repeated plumbing leaks, and after filing for permits, the project failed inspection. The work, which was initially promised to be completed in 8 days, has dragged on for over 6 months. Despite having paid 85% of the total cost since mid-July, the project is still not finished. Numerous other issues have arisen: the contractor over-sprayed paint on two new HVAC units, broke a fence, damaged a flood light and two outdoor lights, and left the worksite in disarray with nails and debris scattered everywhere. They also cut cable cords and left our house without a functioning HVAC system while we were away. As a result, we’ve lost rental income and the house is still not sealed from the elements. The conditions of the house have worsened, with significant humidity, a 20-degree temperature difference between rooms, and gaps in the siding that allowed mice to get into the walls. I also suspect that necessary inspections for insulation and wood rot were never done. The contractor’s poor management of subcontractors has been another major issue. On one occasion, I had to personally resolve a problem with a painter who didn’t have any paint. It took me three calls to provide the necessary supplies and she kept disturbing me and my wife at work by asking for assistance with the contractor. The contractor stands by their work and business practices, claiming that the project was near completion as of July 10th, but this is far from the reality. I would not recommend this contractor due to their unprofessionalism, negligence, poor communication, and overall lack of accountability.
