My favourite Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. I’ve visited Sushi Hil multiple times over the years and will continue to return. It isn’t cheap by any means but still reasonable and well worth the price. The quality of ingredients is incredibly high and always fresh, paired well with excellent and attentive service. Highly recommend the bluefin tasting! We experienced a minor issue during our latest visit but Chef Hil was quick to rectify the situation and generous in his remedy. Truly deserving of another year of being Michelin recommended.

Came here for lunch for their sets. We got their daily lunch set for 75$, the chirashi set and the Nagasaki bluefin tasting. The quality of the fish is exceptional and every dish was well executed! For the price, I think it is on the pricier side for what you get. Would definitely not come here regularly but more for a special occasion. Would recommend the lunch set for the variety and quality though. Loved their house roll!!

The place is tiny, so it's best practice to make a reservation ahead of time. Very calm and relaxing environment inside the restaurant, along with excellent service. Can't go wrong with anything that you order here - everything is fresh and delicious. The sashimi is light, flavourful, and you can feel the quality as soon as you bite into each piece. For 2 people, it's very easy to spend over $100 pp.

- been there only once. Bottom line: it was a pleasant experience overall, but was disappointed in a couple of dishes we ordered, specially given the price, you can get similar or better experience for half that price. the blue fin salmon tasting menu while fresh and good did not offer any surprise (why is it called tasting!?), definitely not worth the 65$ asking price, neither is the crude fish (Crudo) the cucumber dominates and the fish chunks were thick and did not absorb the dressing well, the aburi rice was very compressed but it was still tasty. it is a cute small and cozy place, suitable for quiet dinners, you can feel the quality in this restaurant, but I was hoping for a memorable dinner and it did not happen.
