What motivates someone to choose a career in healthcare—whether as a doctor, nurse, or any other role? Is it a true calling to help others, to show compassion, or to make a meaningful impact in someone’s life? After my recent experience at Metropolitan Hospital, I find myself questioning whether these core values are truly prioritized here. As an aide caring for a 90-year-old man with dementia, my priority is ensuring he receives the care, comfort, and dignity he deserves. Unfortunately, the only genuinely compassionate and helpful person I encountered during our visit was the cleaning lady. The medical staff, on the other hand, showed a shocking lack of empathy and professionalism. Doctors and nurses appeared distant and detached, as though they were simply going through the motions instead of offering the care that’s needed. The lack of communication and understanding from the medical team made the experience incredibly frustrating and distressing—not just for the patient, but for those of us who are there to advocate for him. It’s disheartening to think that those who are supposed to provide comfort and care seem more focused on their own attitudes and egos than on the well-being of the patients they are meant to serve. We came to this hospital hoping to receive the right care, but instead, we left feeling like just another number. The disregard for patient emotions, especially those of a vulnerable elderly man with dementia, and the absence of compassion is completely unacceptable. It’s a shame that a place meant for healing and support felt more like a factory than a hospital. If you’re considering care here, be prepared for a frustrating and dehumanizing experience.

I went in through the Emergency Room, I was feeling fainted and sweating alot but the Nurses and dcotors decided to neglect my symptoms for 2 hours. After these 2 hours had pass my body went into shock and the doctors didnt care until I started to become agressive with the docotrs, nurses, officers. I had no control over this behaviour. It felt like I had no control over my body. After this, I had 4 officers jump on top or me. Then they decided to attened me.

Would be a zero star for me. Do not say no to the staffs recommendations cause if you do they will treat you like you're not human. They do not want you to say no to anything they suggest you do to your body. Especially during giving birth. Horrible people. Be careful.
