I've been coming to this hospital for 40 years as needed. Kidney pain, intestinal pain, and nausea for 5 days. Apparently new protocol to speed up waiting times is to put some of us in a sperate waiting room instead of being in a bed. I was given medicine that makes me sleepy with an IV hanging in waiting room. I've never felt so uncomfortable and uncared for in my life. I understand it's closer for X-ray images but even after done, I'm still in waiting room. I just want a bed to get comfortable. Go to Penn Highland hospital instead. Contemplating just walking out of here with IV bag and going to the other hospital...Most staff are great. Whoever makes these protocols... you're choosing profit over compassion is showing.

I was recently admitted to this hospital for an abscess and needed to have surgery. Everything went well and the staff was very nice and professional. However, there was one staff member who came in my room very early in the morning and attempted to draw blood from me while I was sleeping. Of course, I jumped awake and she said ā€œshhhh, don’t move, I’m drawing blood.ā€ By the time I could get myself awake enough to talk or even realize what had just happened, she was done and gone. I made several attempts to get her name but was unsuccessful. I guess the other staff members didn’t want to snitch on her. One of them even said that it was normal for her to take blood while patients were asleep so they weren’t waking the patient up, lol! I’ve never heard of anything like this before and certainly don’t think of it as being ā€œnormalā€. Did I mention the food was good too??

I visited the emergency room and then admitted. The ER team was wonderful. I can’t begin to thank the second floor, nurses and doctors for their excellent care. They were kind, compassionate, and explained everything in detail. The hospital was well maintained. Food was excellent not typical hospital food. I would give them 10 āļø if I could add 5 more.

Completely unimpressed. Or maybe I’m just spoiled with how great Noah Wiley is on the Pitt. Very long wait times, even though they weren’t busy at all, poor communication, and our biggest gripe would probably have to be with the ER physician- barely seemed to know her stuff, horrible bedside manner, terrible explanation of what was going on. My wife and I are both in healthcare and we decided that if this ever happens again, we would send our kids down to Hershey.
