I have curly hair and I'm not 'girly', so I've always found getting my haircut at hairdressers unpleasant and awkward - comments like 'you should really pluck your eyebrows', 'what have you done to your hair' and 'who cut this?' ('you did' was met with awkwardness), and feeling like I'm not good at whatever it is you need to be good at to fit into these pale pink spaces. So for me, JamesB has been quite a revelation. First off, I'm comfortable here. Even more importantly, they know how to cut curly hair and have taught me how to look after it. Having spent my school years being bullied about my hair, being complimented for it is really quite something. It's not the cheapest cut you'll get, but it'll probably be the best.

She took the time to understand what I wanted and has a careful eye for detail.
