This hospital is very large. I heard that they increased their size at one point in their timeline and added an extra part. When you enter, you're greeted with a "mask up & sanitize hands" station. Well, you're greeted with 2 when you enter: one when you get past the first door, and one when you get past the second door. They have a pharmacy, a Tim Hortons, and some other food options (fast food styled restaurants). There also seems to be other shops as well, but they were closed when we went (on the weekend, Saturday, I think). If you're checking yourself in, there's a self check-in kiosk area and a sign that says you can do self check-in on their app. But, I assume that can only be done on the weekdays. On the outside and inside of the hospital, there are a bunch of wheelchairs available for use, if you so need to use them. There are some nice areas that are wide and open, where you can sit and relax to chat and stuff. Where large windows are, that go from floor to ceiling. There are these floor map things but with words instead of an actual image map. It just tells you which floor has what areas/sections. To open the doors, you just wave your hands in front of the circle and the doors will open. No need to push any buttons to open any door. It's all contactless. Less bacteria to pass around. Smart move on the hospital's part. There seems to be a courtyard or closed off courtyard on the hospital's grounds with tables and chairs. The hallways are large and wide, spacious. My family and I went to visit my... I assume one of my grandpa, my dad's cousin's father. Or something. I don't know. My parents just said it in Chinese and I don't know the literal translation for it. We got lost looking for the area in which the old man grandpa was located in, so we finally asked a group a very busy people in scrubs (busy chatting and joking around, I assume on break), for directions. We were told where to go and to wave our hands over the circle to open the doors. We found our old man grandpa. And visited him. Overall, very nice, big hospital. Not busy when we went for a visit. Aesthetically pleasing looking hospital. The nurses who took care of our old man grandpa by lifting him up and putting him in a better position, cause he was slouching. That was good. What wasn't good was that we found out from my dad's cousin was that the hospital wanted our old man grandpa to hurry up and get out. They basically need the bed. Old man grandpa isn't in a good condition to leave just yet though. Other than that... Hospital is fine.

Just over 2 hours total for triage, x-ray, diagnosis and casting today at MSH. A great hospital with really friendly efficient staff. Return visit to MSH today to see the surgeon and get a new lighter cast. The total visit was under 1/2 hour again with great staff, easy parking and clear easy to follow signage.

Mom went into the ER at 3:30p. Blood work went missing, and didn't get in until 4:30am for a CT scan. It's now past 5am the next morning and we're still waiting on what to do next. Update: it's passed 6:30a the next morning, finally saw a doctor 15 hours after first arriving at the ER. Now, more waiting... Update #2: 18+Hours after going to the ER, mom finally gets an ultrasound done. More waiting for a room after being admitted Update #3: it's been 26 hours since coming to the ER, still waiting...

My young daughter had surgery here. It was a successful surgery: many thanks to the doctor for that. The after-care impressed me as well. I was able to see all the nurses and volunteers being very caring, making sure my daughter and I were well taken care of. Toddlers obviously require special care and a different approach, and I saw all the staff taking that into consideration in their interactions, which I'm grateful for. The entire experience was a very positive one. Thank you so much, surgical unit staff!
