As a 60s something man I was looking for a more refined establishment to take care of my hairstyle needs. Haircut 1000 is situated in a charming older home and the atmosphere is warm and inviting..I was lucky enough to have Chris do my hair, Chris was very welcoming upon my arrival and I was quickly seated for my first cut . I asked for a shorter style cut, something that reflects a modern yet mature men's style. After some good conversation I was very pleased to see what Chris had effortlessly done with my hair. I was very pleased and impressed, walking out feeling and looking much better than when I came in, and isn't that what it's all about. Highly recommend.

After contemplating for 1+ year, I decided to post this review hoping that it will benefit someone like me in the future. Long story short, I went to Haircut 1000 on Oct 22 2021 for a color and a keratin treatment (I paid $215.15 including tax). The color came out perfect, However, the Keratin was gone after the first wash. I contacted the salon right away and inquired what could be done. They said the hairstylist who did my hair will be in touch, but they never did. Fast forward to May 28 2022, I went again for a Keratin treatment at this salon (I know, it was my fault). They assured me that this time they were using a better product and the Keratin will last longer and charged more (I paid $359.00 including tax). Same thing happened; keratin didn’t last 1 wash. I messaged them right away and they mentioned that they were looking into things. Since I didn’t receive any response, I messaged then again in July. I asked them to deduct the hairstylist’s labor cost (she did work very hard) and refund the rest I paid for the Keratin treatment. They said they have ordered a new product for me and they would be in touch as soon as they got the product. That was the last time I heard from them, and I didn’t try to contact them after and neither did they. Since then, I have returned to my old keratin salon at the Eaton Center in Downtown Toronto and I have been extremely satisfied with the results. Sad to witness local businesses like Haicut1000 mistreating their local and loyal customers.

I went for years to Melissa with my daughter. She is really good with curly hair. She cancelled my appointment without asking me, then she wrote me that she can’t do that time even though her website showed that the time slot was an available. I am very disappointed with the way she treats me. Very unprofessional.

I had an amazing experience at Haircut 1000 recently. It was my first time there and I was delighted with what Melissa and Candice did with my hair colour! They are definitely pros in this field! Aside from this, I so enjoyed the lovely laidback atmosphere and the banter. I will definitely be back!!
