Amazing doctors but it’s the nurses that are the most caring and kind medical professionals I’ve ever encountered. My mom has been to the ER three times and admitted twice. Every place she was the nurses were terrific. Shout to Lime 7 in particular. Terrific support staff too - food team was also really nice.

I’m very disappointed with the care my family member is receiving at this hospital. He recently had surgery and is not being properly attended to. The nursing staff and other personnel often ignore his calls for help, leaving him alone and unattended. I live four hours away and can’t be there in person, and he has no one else to support him. He called me in tears today, feeling abandoned and scared. This situation is deeply concerning and shows a serious lack of compassion and responsibility from the hospital staff.

The emergency room shouldn’t even be open. It is so poorly operated and is not capable of handling the volume of patients. On a recent visit to the ER I waited over 4 hours to be seen and was told there were still 3 patients ahead of me and at least one ambulance. A young woman sitting across from us had waited 6 hours. We left and the following day was seen in another local ER. We waited less than 2 hours, were treated by professionals who genuinely showed caring. I was admitted promptly to the hospital for 3 days. I was one of the lucky ones to leave and find proper care. I would never bring anyone to this hospital for emergency care.

So I was in there last night and wanted to leave, was promised a cab home if I stayed. I did and at discharge was told the cab company was closed. I was told to wait in the waiting room till 4am, on a chair. It was 12ish. Totally unacceptable. I live in Mount Joy, have no one in lancaster city. It would be nice not to guarantee something and then leave that patient to fend for herself at that time of night. There was no way of getting home. The surrounding area of this hospital is all drug addicts and homeless people hanging all around. LGH doesn't care what happens to you once you walk out them doors. They expanded the hospital and lowered their care.
