We loved our stay at Holiday Inn Express! We were able to check in 15 minutes early, and the room was clean—though my 13-year-old son thought it was a bit too cold 🤣. Breakfast offered a nice variety of options. Parking was full at night, but we were lucky to snag the last spot. The bedsheets were fresh, and housekeeping tidied up while we were out. The pool was pleasantly warm, and we really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. Overall, it was a solid 9/10 experience for our weekend stay!

We always book holiday inns and have never experienced what we did here. The hotel is going thru renovations, and thank goodness they are because the rooms are disgusting to put it politely. The first room we were in was an old room. The blinds were falling off the track, stains on the curtains, dried spills on the walls, mild in the bathroom sink, felt humid in the room-like a mold humid, the carpets clearly hadn’t been cleaned let alone vacuumed in forever. There were stains in the carpets, you could see hair on the floor and some kind of debris in the drawers. The next morning I couldn’t take it anymore and asked the front desk for a different room. I told them the concerns, got an apology and we were put in a renovated room. This room was 1000% better, the only issue was it was missing a door latch to secure the room from inside. When we called someone came to the door and said it didn’t matter as the deadbolt would secure it enough-never heard that before but didn’t want to make a scene demanding another room. I do feel for the price we paid we should have been compensated something back for our first night. That room could be a health hazard and they should not be putting people in it. Also our first night the fire alarm went off for awhile at 0130, no communication regarding it following and no apology (I get that firearms are safety, we’re not mad it went off if it was a legit reason but it wasn’t legit as everyone on the floor went back to our rooms once it turned off). The breakfast was good, its hotel breakfast and exactly what we expected. I’m giving 3 stars for the updated room and breakfast. Otherwise it would be a one star.

We really enjoyed our stay at the holiday inn express. The rooms are spacious and nice with all necessary amenities. The breakfast was included and the menu was extensive with many options. The staff was helpful and friendly. Special mention to Sunny who helped us with the booking and any thing we needed during our stay. We recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in Vernon.

My wife and I, along with another couple, stayed at the Vernon IHG Holiday Inn and Suites for three nights. Having recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Lethbridge, the differences were stark, and unfortunately, the Vernon location fell short in several critical areas.|The breakfast was noticeably underwhelming compared to Lethbridge, with a limited selection and lower quality than expected from the brand. Cleanliness was also an issue—the hotel didn’t feel as well-maintained as it should have been. The ice machine was out of service, which was inconvenient for our group.|The hotel was undergoing renovations, which we’ve managed at other properties before. However, the process here was chaotic and, at times, concerning. Our floor was in disarray, with furniture stacked in the hallway, forcing us to crawl over it to get out at one point. More alarmingly, the renovation contractors blocked fire exits, a clear safety hazard and regulatory violation. Additionally, the elevator machine room door was propped open with a fan, another obvious breach of safety regulations. These issues suggested a lack of oversight over the contractors, whose presence dominated the property. Sea cans full of renovation materials clogged the parking lot, and debris was scattered across the grounds, making the hotel feel neglected and disorganized.|On a positive note, the laundry facilities worked well, and our room’s air conditioning functioned fine. However, our friends had issues with their AC unit, highlighting further inconsistencies. The staff were pleasant but seemed unable to manage the renovation chaos effectively.|Compared to the cleaner, smoother, and more comfortable stay at the Lethbridge Holiday Inn, this Vernon location was a disappointment. The safety violations were particularly concerning and unacceptable for a hotel of this brand. While we hope the renovations will eventually improve the property, better contractor oversight and adherence to safety regulations are urgently needed. For now, this stay was far below the standard we expected.
