Customer experiences
Friendly service and fair prices! I asked a few questions about some TCG booster packs and the Clerk was able to help me quickly. They came around from the counter and assisted me with finding everything I was looking for and explaining the differences between several TCG accessories. Worth exploring on the ground floor of 100 Kellogg's Lane
I decided it was time to sell some Magic: The Gathering cards after not playing for a long time. Knowing I'd get way less then market value, I went in blindly with low expectations. Stefan took care of me today. He took the time to carefully go through each card, and their condition. I didn't feel ripped off at the end. I know I would get more selling privately, but to try and sell a boat load of individual cards in a short amount of time sounds like a headache... and I can imagine it was a headache dealing with all that on the spot (sorry Stefan!!!) The other staff was friendly as well and had good vibes. One of them purchased and opened some Sorcery: Contested Realm packs near me and gave a pack of the cards he wasn't going to use. Very cool! Highly recommend this place, great atmosphere and friendly people with fair prices on trade-ins and products.
Great experience at L.A. Mood. Amazing deal on dice and mats and very fairly priced Pokémon packs and ETBs. The three folks working were very friendly and polite. They made my afternoon!
I do not leave many reviews. But I had a really disappointing interaction today at LA Mood. My kid has been getting into Star Wars Unlimited and was excited to go to LA Mood to get some packs. The selection was limited to some of the older releases and not the two new releases over the past year -- with some packs hidden behind where the cash register is. I found this curious so I inquired. One of the ppl working there told me that they don't stock the new releases of SWU because "the game is dead" saying this rather grumpily in front of my until that moment enthusiastic kid. Then walked off leaving his colleague there. We interacted in a more civil fashion. I am not a big gamer, but this game is clearly not just "dead" -- and has revitalized interest in card gaming for a completely new generation, and for some who have not played board games in years. I am ultimately fine if the store decides not to carry something and focus on other games (Magic, etc), but I found it very rude to have an adult try to enforce their opinion in front of a 9 year old about what game is good or not. The store is in a very convenient location for me... but it certainly gives me pause to support them -- although I ultimately did make a few purchases unrelated to Star Wars Unlimited today.
L. A. Mood Comics & Games is a comic book store.
