Very nice discovery in the heart of old Québec near le Château Frontenac. The lunch menu tapas style is really nice 👌 While renovating, they found an old menu from Café de la paix from 1958. They decided to re-create an affordable lunch menu. All dishes are $5 and quite tasty!!! Highly recommend

This was our second visit to Le Clan. We originally discovered it on a food tour and enjoyed the tasting experience so much that we decided to return for the six-course tasting menu. Marianne was our server, and she was warm, welcoming, and wonderfully hospitable. Every member of the staff who brought out our dishes was knowledgeable about the ingredients, presentation, and accompanying wines, which really elevated the experience. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, and the focus on local ingredients was clear. Everything served is produced and prepared on-site. The smoked trout from Quebec was fabulous, and while I felt the duck could have used a touch more seasoning, I should note that it was my first time trying duck—so who am I to judge? Dining at Le Clan is a fantastic opportunity to explore a variety of high-end dishes you might not otherwise try. It’s ideal for those who are adventurous with food. The service was impeccable and the entire team made sure we were informed and engaged with every course.

It has been a last minute reservation so we, just a party of 2, went for the “$5 a plate” available only at lunch. We were very fortunate to have gotten a table. There was nothing “$5” about this experience with Le Clan, which is a fine dining restaurant. The food has been delicious and of top quality. Each plate is a tapas sized and totally great as an introduction into their discovery lunch and dinner menus. We ordered literally only from the “entree” and “main” sections, adding up to 8 dishes, duplicating the veal and yellow sturgeon. The creations had been delicious showcasing uniquely local Quebec foods. And from small farms, towns. Not high yield institutions. Will recommend visiting and reservations are necessary. We will go for the discovery menus the next time.

We were highly excited to try this restaurant since our previous trip to Quebec City last May. Last night we felt lucky to be able to be served without a reservation ( we just arrived from Maine). We Selected the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairings. The food itself was beautifully crafted and very tasty! The artic chard was my favorite of all. The service was extremely fragmented and unorganized. Our original server (Julian) was enthusiastic and welcoming. He left before the first course was served and thereafter, we had different staff bring out the food. Wine pairings were not served timely together with the courses. Often waiting 10 minutes or more before the corresponding course was served. There was long waiting time between course. Other guests received little more attention and seemingly were given same server throughout their dining experience! The sommelier was supposed to be our server. She presented some of the wine pairings but not the food. She served three other tables in the same room with detail explanations of wine and food. We had high expectations but left disappointed with the service!
