James Meyers Construction did a fabulous job with a new driveway. They completed it in a day and the owners of the company were on site throughout the day to make sure it was done right. They were very responsive to questions throughout the project.I’m impressed with the final product. The photo doesn’t do it justice, but in person, it looks great

JMC made a big project look easy! This year we decided to replace our 50+ year old driveway. JMC was on my radar after watching them complete a few other projects in the neighborhood. From the first phone call to the completion of the project, our experience was wonderful. Jaron Meyers was our primary contact. He provided a competitive estimate and was involved with demo, forming, the pour, and finish. We have a large driveway and added the front walk and covered porch. Excellent craftsmanship throughout! To top of off, their attention to detail on the cleanup and dirt work was excellent! His entire crew was friendly and professional! Shout out to Gebler! Highly recommend! 🇺🇸 Gerry & Ann

We are beyond pleased with James Meyers Concrete’s work on our driveway. From the very beginning the experience was top level. Jaron arrived on time for the estimate and explained the entire process. Once we accepted the estimate he stayed in touch regarding when to schedule our project. As promised they started our project on the scheduled day. The crew was focused, showed a high level of professionalism and pride in their work. Jaron and James were both onsite doing the work. The finishing crew stayed until 11pm working under lights to make it perfect. Two days later they returned to remove the forms, landscape and clean up. They are an outstanding team and we would highly recommend James Meyers Concrete for any jobs.

In spring, 2024, we entered into a six figure agreement for James Meyers Concrete to re-plaster and re-tile our pool, replace the coping and concrete decking around our pool and replace our driveway. Initially, we were impressed with their work. They got the job underway quickly and appeared to be making good progress. By the end of the job, however, we were very dissatisfied, for many reasons. I would caution against using this company for the reasons I explain, below. Our primary source of dissatisfaction is with the inconsistent color of the decorative concrete. We visited their supplier, RCS Contractor Supplies, to select a color and decorative design. We were asked how James Meyers would mix the color, in the truck or on the job site. We had no idea, so RCS provided two similar colors, one for each mixing method. James Meyers mixed the color on-site, for which, knowing what we now know, is a serious concern. Mixing on-site only provides color on the surface of the concrete. The concrete is poured and the color, in powder form, is thrown out onto the concrete. Any chipping or scratching will expose the original concrete. There is also a lot of inconsistencies in the color, (pictures) as it is added by hand and very open to varying degrees of color. We have a lot of colored concrete, which, I believe should have been mixed in the truck. We have an electrical junction box that holds all the electrical connections between our circuit breaker box and all of our pool equipment. James opened the box and disconnected every connection, so that there would be no live wires out at the pool while they were working. Fine, but after the job was complete, the wires were all hanging out of the junction box, disconnected, with no way to determine which wires went where. He had to come back with an “electrician”, who messed around with the wires until he got the pool pump working. The new pool light, which James Meyers installed as part of the job still does not work, even after my hiring another Electrician to do some other work and address the connections that had not been completed. This was a large job, and with any concrete work, I would expect to be left with a bit of cleanup. Before the job, I asked Jaron Meyers, son of James and the person that seems responsible for customer interaction, although not exactly customer focused, if they would be careful with the lawn, Jaron stated, “Oh yeah, we put down pads for their excavators and other equipment to cross the lawn”. Well, the pads went down on day 1, but they got pushed around each day by the equipment and by the end of the job, our lawn looked like a gravel road. This took a lot of effort to cleanup, more work than it should have been, in my opinion. As I stated, this was a large job and I think James Meyers estimated it would take a certain amount of time. Once they hit that timeframe they clearly began to rush and basically ran out of here before it was properly completed. After they left, it was very difficult to get them to come back and address the issues we brought up. I, in good faith, paid the final bill with the thought that they would come out and address outstanding issues. Over the winter, we had a chunk of concrete break away from the decking (picture). Their contract states that they provide a one year warranty. I have been trying to get them to come out and address this issue, but am getting no response from Jaron. James keeps telling me he will be out on this day, but this day comes and goes with him not showing up. To say the least, I am very frustrated. I paid the bill even though there were outstanding issues, but I think I have learned my lesson on this job, probably to the dismay of the next contractor that I have to deal with. Please do yourself a favor and do not choose to do business with James Meyers Concrete.
