Wow wow wow, the oysters are a must try here! Loved this place so much. There’s limited seating available, so I recommend getting there before 7pm to put your name down. We got there around 7:30 and were not seated until 8:30, but there are a lot of cute breweries around to kill time. We did the omakase option which was well worth the price and allows you to try lots of seafood and some of the meat options. For two people, we left very full. Our favorite dishes were the oysters, the salad surprisingly, and the karage.

Izakaya Minato was delicious! The local Bluefin Belly Crudo was a great starter rich and buttery. The Motoyaki Oyster was my favorite dish. It was sweet, salty and had the perfect texture, one of the best oyster preparations I've had. The Beef Yuki was another one of our favorite dishes, it had a nice gochujang flavor and the beef was very tender. We finished with the Kamo Yaki Udon and the Shashimi. The Udon was great as was the Sashimi. We ordered most of the menu for 3 with drinks and our bill was under $200 I was shocked, this resturant is a great value! I would highly recommend Izakaya Minato if your looking for japanese food in Portland!

The manager of Arcadia has told me this place was better than Eventide for a while now... I had doubts. They were unfounded. It’s a small little joint, so waits are long! But there are a lot of bars and tapas places near by where you can wait. The food was amazing. I didn't see any of the typical American tuna pumped full of carbon monoxide to make it Barbie pink. Staff was awesome. Good fantastic. Better than Eventide? No, just different. It’s a food scene at Minato, and a bit more festive at Eventide. But both are there for your pleasure! Enjoy!

Really amazing. Ordered the chef selection meal where they brought out multiple courses. It was all delicious and well paced and I was happy not to make any decisions on what to order.

Izakaya Minato is a japanese restaurant.
